Does anyone know when the draw for the 4th Rnd of the FAI junior cup is to take place????
i'm not from thurles myself but i gave a few years to peake villa and i know enough from them years about the players. I'm not sure do i agree with what your sayin about forgive and forget...was there not 2 players in loughnane and b.ryan that wouldn't play. Would the rest of them say forgive and forget had michaels won that match and then see those two players who wouldn't play the game transfer to michales. Whereas O Connor the main transfer target vowed to play the game and wasn't worried about getting cup tied. Are these players bigger than the team to say who and what games they can pick and choose to play..does loyalty remain anymore. Ted believes it does![]()

Would it not be fair to say that B.Ryan was injured and still hasn't played a game for Peake. I don't think it's fair to be quoting anyone as a "boozer" in fairness. Let's talk more about football. Peake will come out of their shell slowly but surely. As with any new manager it will take time for both players and manager to get used to each other. Didn't see their last FAI game against Galbally but heard there was a marked improvement in their performance. We'll have to wait and see.Originally Posted by jug2004
Ryan was definitely unavailable due to injury or suspension....cant remember. It is unfair to be so harsh on Loughnane also. He definitely ha reason to be p issed off at what was going on.
On thefootball front, the need to add to the squad...nothing like competition for places. Their play from set-pieces seem dangerous also....must be working on that a bit
Apart from competition for places, it's vital to have a equally strong bench when playing such competitions as FAI Junior Cup. Apart from FAI it's also good for moral of any team to have a healthy squad with equally good players on the bench.Originally Posted by Den Perry

To change subject, a few surprise omissions from the Oscar traynor squad....
U didn't see a lot of Breen last year because he was a sub for the year with Saints. He started off as keeper at the start of this season with Saints until they shafted him and re-signed Kevin O'Sullivan from Limerick. So he's obvious move was to sign for Peake Villa which he was blocked from doing last year by Saints.Originally Posted by Den Perry

My own personal view of the Oscar Traynor is that the player interest doesn't seem to be there any more after lifting the trophy already. That's just my own thought on observations of the team.

Over a number of years the TSDL have treated the players who turn out for the Oscar Traynor team very poorly. Simple things like a bite of food after the game have been denied. Good relations between players and management (the likes of Kiely and Lonergan) have kept the thing going. Once Ray Lonergan stood down, the goodwill and respect that players had for him personally vanished. Hence, senior and experienced players have decided that they have better things to do than play for a team where they are treated poorly. The TSDL won it only a few years ago and if they fielded their strongest team, I feel they would have a great run at it.
i wasn't slaggin off the peake villa guys some of them i have a lot of time for,so apoligies for the boozer bashin'. maybe the oscar trainer should be talked about on our own forum do ye think(i'll get stuck into it there). As for the FAI draw i'd say peake and town are hopin to avoid each other at all costs. Fairness there the best 2 teams left in the area and have the best chance of representin the league in the open draw. Its good to see other teams getting a run all the same for a change.
when you say our own forum, I presume you mean the TSDL page?
No offence taken from Villa fans regarding the "booze culture", after all you should be free to speak your mind on this site, I was just pointing out that I didn't agree wholeheartedly with what you were saying....
Westport (holders) playing in round 3 of FAI Cup on sunday against S+F United. tough game but westport should win by 1![]()
Yes and game is still on despite the weather...Should be a tough game but we will give it our best....Originally Posted by HuRya
Rumours are abound that Westport United may field a weakened side tomorrow due to injuries. Can anybody confirm the story? If so, I think that S&F will be too hot. Castlebar Celtic and Ballina Town to advance tomorrow.
