European goalscoring

Is five goals in one European campaign a record for a LOI player? Since Crowe is the top scorer of all time with something like 10 goals I would imagine it would have to be pretty close, does anybody know? I can't imagine that many Irish players at all have gotten more for that matter.

Yeah, Crowe's eight-goal tally is an LOI record. 99% certain that Byrne's five-goal feat in a single campaign is a unique achievement as well. He'd have at least two more if only he could resist the temptation of camera-friendly finishes.
