Would have thought Derry would have spent a bit more this year to really push Rovers tbh. Rovers have strengthened way more

David Tarmey and Francely Lombot would be ahead of him too. Wilson had a very bad season after promising so much in 2021.
Loan might be just what he needs.
Danny Furlong signed back at Wexford…

In fairness, Rovers were interested in both O'Reilly & Whelan, and they both went to derry. By the sounds of it I think the next major investment for derry will be in their playing surface - It really hinders them imo.
Of the signings Rovers have made I'm most excited by Kenny and the Estonian Poom. Hopefully both will hit the ground running and Rovers can establish their position early.
Other than the 2 guys to derry mentioned I must confess I don't see a hell of a lot of quality moving into LOI teams this season - the young quality players continues to drain away to england.
Shamrock Rovers- Where trophies are won and envy is scarce
Awful lot of unknowns into the league this year. Interesting to see how they manage the move here.
I'd say there'll be a few more from outside Ireland moving in yet with the English transfer window closing this weekend.

Aidan Keena reported to be signing for Cheltenham Town . Massive blow for Sligo if true
We have a few lads that fit into they category. It’s a strange league in many ways , unknowns can flourish and the players you expect to do well can flop. I expected more from Doyle last season for instance and it turned out Cotter was our star player. I expect Mulraney to be our best signing this season but you never know.
£70k now being reported.

That's a big blow for Sligo and they'll find it very challenging now to make the euro spots, so late also to find a replacement. Would be same for almost all other teams losing their main striker, we struggled badly in Aug / Sept last year trying to adjust without Hoban who ended up missing the rest of the season.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
UCD signed Adam Wells from Shamrock Rovers and Brendan Barr from Derry City.

That's a real sickener for Sligo. Maybe being naive but I thought they were in the clear now with him after a couple of other moves not playing out and the international window being so close to closing.
That leaves a dangerous lack of goals in their squad, won't be an easy feat adding them now.

If transfernmarkt is accurate at all it's also the 9th largest fee paid in League One in 22/23, right behind Devoy and Burns although the delta between those fees and the highest fee (1.2m) is huge. There's a big (50%) drop off from the last player on the list to join League One from a club in the U.K. and the first to join from Ireland.
All fairly useless information but I suppose if those 3 make an impact we might start closing the gap a bit more and start getting into the 300-500k range.
We also aren't far off being able to bid for players at Cheltenhams level at least but the wages I'd assume would be way off.
Keena fee is being reported as £100k plus add ons by a UK based journalist
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
Kerry sign Kennedy Amechi from Cork's U19 side - still only 18, but based on the current squad profile, he'll get opportunities sooner, rather than later.
