Haha, be delighted to be proved wrong of course, Myler still a fraud whatever division we end up in, would prefer to be watching us play decent teams all over Dublin next year than watching away games on LOI TV, because the cost of travelling to all those away games in Div 1 is a non runner for sure

Said it many times on here, with SOD in year one and re-building, and with modest budget from new owners, to get europe by any method would have been amazing and they did it.

This is now the 9th season in 10 we have made it, coefficient will be high enough for seeding in two rounds, so good chance now to progress. Also means the budget will be increased and can attract better quality.

    Sorry to see FH relegated.

An awful night for the club. Those toe rags in the jinks have been at that crap all season. Running down throwing stuff at the away fans whenever we score etc. saw how brave they were when a few of the Pats fans went after them.

If you play like a division one team you deserve to be in division one.
Glad that’s over. It’ll be a while before we get back near the Premier league.

Surely your budget and squad meant Europe was at least a realistic prospect?

Europe was of course the aim, but we started off with a massive upheaval, just look at the quality who left and it just shows the task that was in place.

In no particular order, Duffy, McEleney, Dummingam, Patching (all Derry), then Cleary (SPL), Murray (Glentoran), Shields (Mid-Season - Linfield), Stanton (Scot Championship) and lastly Jurkoviskis the Latvian international.

Duds in Abibi (don't get me started), Nattestand (Bluffer) Korean chap Han, Zaha from Africa etc etc etc

All of this taken into account, and 6 first team players out injured since August this season, Hoban the main man, it was a big achievement qualifying for Europe.

Deffo a realistic proposition at the start of the season but with a small enough squad we hit injury traffic at the back end of season and those who were left showed a lot of determination and grit to eventually get the job done.
The fans celebrations in the op bars were still going on *hic* when i left about an hour ago and who can blame them after what happened with P6 last year?!
Hard luck pats, sorry to see Harps going down and good luck to UCD,Longford,Waterford,Galway and Treaty in the p/o's.

Only so much clubs and the authorities can do. There are scumbags in society when scumbags buy a ticket for a football match they are going to act the maggot.

Spectacular result for Shels to end our 11 game league winless streak though Drogheda were utterly terrible, on the flip side in all competitions we have only lost one of our last 9 and that was a stoppage time goal to Rovers

With injuries and suspensions to key players now cleared I don't think we can be in a better position going into the cup final, will be interesting to see if Duff plays any of our cup final starting XI against Pats with them having an vested interest in the result of the cup final and us having a chance of finishing 6th ahead of Bohs
The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians

Good achievement from Dundalk considering all you have laid out. A little bit of luck from Sligo too, but you neeed a bit of luck at times in the LOI. Zahibo though ... The LOI Ali Dia. The Abibi signing felt like a walk in the dark with a blindfold on. Jurkovskis was about the best of all them signings though. Overall I trust they will have learned from these Football Manager style free transfer signings.

Filippo said on a live podcast that abibbi was something like tenth on his list after P6 turned down all his other options. Zahibo had a great CV but he warned the owners he had suffered a really bad injury but they didn't seem too bothered

Makes sense re Abibi. I knew that he had briefly played with some big teams, Zahibo, so I was looking forward to seeing something like that, but it never worked out. Perhaps Ali Dia wais a bit harsh after all.

"The crap signings were someone else's fault", says manager whose job it is to sign players.

I'd take what he says with a dollop of salt.

Yeah fair enough. It's definitely been a positive season for you. I had you finishing 4th behind Pat's in my own predictions for the season but that was mainly because I thought Doyle would light it up there and he hasn't really. You've looked strong against us when you have the right players fit so a few more signings and you'll be in good shape.

    Who has been your POTY?

Sligo Rovers are aware of incidents which took place at half time during last night’s 1-0 win over St Patrick’s Athletic at The Showgrounds.
The incident has been captured on our CCTV cameras and we have identified a number of those involved and they will be subject to lengthy stadium bans.
The Showgrounds is a welcoming, family friendly stadium and incidents like this will not be tolerated and those involved in such incidents are not welcome at our club.
We wish to thank our supporters for their support of the club in 2022 and we will not allow our supporters’ fantastic reputation be tarnished by a minority of supporters who come to cause trouble.

The WAW factor, as it almost certainly won't be known - at least with the travelling, you'll have to make a weekend of it!
