Update from Waterford FC on social media today is that Waterford fans are getting 300 tickets for the main stand now which is fair enough.
We have sold 700 tickets so far.

This season's structure was agreed. I don't think anyone is asking for a change to what has been agreed. Not like FIFA who changed the 2010 playoff draw format to keep the higher seeds apart!
First Division 2022 played out 32 games each. First Division 2021 played out 27 games each. If the First Division 2023 plays out over 27 games, it could finish a week early to allow all playoff rounds over two legs.
If the First Division 2023 opt for a 36 game season, possibly 2nd, 3rd & 4th in First Division and 9th in Premier should be the only 4 teams in the playoffs. Two legged semi-finals with 9th PD v 4th FD and 2nd FD v 3rd FD.
Two legged final then as well. If 9th and 2nd make the final, there should be a draw for home advantage in the second leg. All other final pairings should see the higher league placing rewarded with home advantage in the second leg.
Like that format, in that it gives teams within striking distance of the top half of the FD something to aim for, but when there are likely to be the same number of regular league rounds in 2023 as in the PD, the running off of the playoffs would need to be condensed.

Only because the PD was reducing from 12 to 10 teams.

Just FYI fans getting main stand tickets if it looks like the stand is going to sell out get there early if the weather's bad

There's a good couple of hundred restricted (as in literally can't see half of the pitch) seats in that stand

Will people be able to pay on the gate on the night does anyone know?

    Fair play, great numbers there.

We're onto our sixth 52 seater bus, I think there's a smaller bus going from Dublin also, so seven supporters buses going in total.

It should be a good occasion, along with the neutrals at the game, the attendance should be close to 2,000 or more.

    It wasn't?

Do you mean the Women's Cup Final? What were the crowds like for that? Somewhere like Tallaght seems to make more sense. Wasn't there also the issue of extra-time and penalties clashing with the warm up for the men's match (on next) one year?

At the end of 2017 and the following seasons, I thought there were discussions between the clubs and FAI over the playoffs. Some clubs were voicing the need for the playoffs to give them a lifeline. 2nd to 5th now have that generous lifeline.

    A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.

There's no indication the playoffs - which have been almost ever-present since 1992 - were going to be done away with though, so Henderson can hardly have been instrumental in their reintroduction, as you suggest

10 buses full as of last night including one from Dublin. Brilliant from the club sponsoring the busses so tickets are only €5 a head.

Looks like the rain might hold off till 10pm. Hopefully that is the case. While I think Galway rain is the worst kind of Irish rain, Limerick rain is close behind! Hopefully Galway can get it done, but I'm not convinced by their awful form since about July.

Match temporary suspended because of an issue with the stand behind the goal.

The stand behind the goal in Markets Field has been cleared due to safety issue. What a kip of a place, how does it pass licensing, game also held up.

Reminds me of the time the stand at the old Belfield started to break apart during our LC final there. The floor gave way, and left a big gap with a 3m drop.
Game wasn't stopped, mind. We just moved the away from the hole.
We were made of stronger stuff back then.
