Rather depressing news from the West today, as Galway WFC decide not to apply for a license in next year's WNL. Still, the trend both here and in Europe has been towards the merger of male and female clubs, so perhaps Galway United themselves might step into the breach?

Any update on whether GUFC will take over the women's football club? Felt sorry for them losing to cork last weekend. Must be grim finishing the season knowing you won't exist at the end of it.
