    United beat de Town

An ok performance from United, Athlone were very poor, and had
absolutely no idea of how to attack and created virtually no
    opportunities.

They got a careless peno from an United point of view, but at least
United picked themselves up and got the winner.

Special mention to Alan O'Donovan who looks a promising player,
good passer of the ball, nice control, prepared to run at his marker,
and the ability to shoot, he hit the post with a 25 yard effort
and then with the help of a slight deflection scored a great winning goal.
More importantly he show determination and great enthusiasm, something
    lacking from certain players.

Very tough game on Monday, a draw would be a very good result for us.

What a joy it was to see

Alan O'Donovan running at the Athlone defence and the pride that shone through in his celebrations after his goal was class. Its taken him a long timer to make the breakthrough and he will only get better.

Monday will be totally different kettle of fish and we will need everyone playing together as a team to put down the cats.Im hoping that the injured pride at Kilkennys Terryland victory will spark some of our "star players" into action. A win would set up friday nights western derby perfectly!!!!!!!!!!
