Am i right in saying that Ekranas had three clear attacks on goal and scored from one.

To be fair ... most of the team had a mare and really made hard work of it.

Hopefully a lot will be learnt from that tonight !!

Is Georgie gone now or is it three yellows .... Diving !! .... And if hes out, is it for both legs ??

When you put everything into context,a 2-1 aggregate win is a great result for city, despite tonights loss and performance.
Theyre 15 points clear of their league,in mid-season,so our summer soccer advantage is gone and they have 3 full internationals playing for them, theyre not a bad side either!!

On another note, they were the quickest team to leave the cross ever,i was just out the gate and most of them were lined up across the road waiting for their bus!!

A handful of them were raging and stormed out of the ground at the St Annes end .... stewards followed them to the gate and dealt with it very well .... most very fine to be fair.

Any idea what they were raging abut? Just being knocked out?

Imagine if it had been the other way around, lost first leg 1-0 at the cross and won the second leg 2-0 in Lithuania with a last minute georgie goal

It was all John Spillane's fault

He set the tone for the evening with his dozy tunes.
The shed could not be heard. Better if they go behind the goal at St. Anne's end, where their sound will not be smothered in the sleepy hollow that is Derrynane.
When Georgie was getting the yellow, somebody said he pleaded with the ref and get well upset. That might explain his off form for the rest of the game.
Lads, we got a result against a form team over the two legs. No matter that we played poor football. If we can get away with it against opposition like that, things are looking good.

Seriously disappointed with our display and attitude tonight.
We were so much a better side than them, we should have killed this tie stone dead...

Rico better administer some serious kicks up some h*les for Sunday's game....

btw, I thought the G O'C booking was well harsh......

Thought it was good but probably the wrong place of a Johnny Spillane gig (the sound system in the cross is sh!t and good for nothing)

The atmosphetre was funny alright but thats because it was so fragmented, with little groups all over the place. The Shed on tour looked good though .... would be the job if the whole Derrynane was like that all the time !!

Yup ... agreed ... the attitude was brutal, the first ten minutes were shakey but then settled down, and when City were getting the chances, they should have put it away .... one goal would have put it past them. The heads were dropped and City made a meal of it. Need to be more clinical in front of goal. Need to finish the game off faster !!

George had an okay game - loads of heart, some nice touches, a fair few crap long passes - but he clearly had a FOR SALE sign round his neck which fcuks up his judgement, and the dive was simply not up to UEFA standard when he would have been better off heading for goal. After a glory period, the golden boy is heading for a bad patch with fans unless he takes himself off the market.
Its a mystery why Fenn didn't get a game/kick tonight and a straight swop for George would have put a few home truths on the table.

No they were not corner.
They had a good first 10 minutes of the game, and some good spells in th second half when we just sat back.

We are a vastly better team than them and even playing sh*te like lat night, we should still have beten them. That was the softest goal we have conceded in years...

Only 2 good things can be taken from the game last night though:
1. We got through.
2. If we have to lose a few games this season, this was a good one to lose.

From where I was, (St. Anne's end, NEVER AGAIN), George's booking looked very harsh. If, as you say, it was a clear dive, then he is a dpe for thatkind of crap.
All he has done is put himself out of the shop window in the next round, and this on top of his stupid bookings that will make him miss the $h€l$ game, is one sure way of finding himself on the bench for awhile.

Rico should take the chance to get it through to George that just because Gill and a few others are telling George that he is the greatest player in the world, doesn't actually mean it's true.

COP YOURSELF ON GEORGE, PLAY PROPERLY AND WORK HARD FOR CITY, OR P*SS OFF.

I think the main sentence I heard outside the ground after
the match last night was...
"Well were in the draw tomorrow"
I think we have to look on the bright side, Ekranas are out
City are still in and the next round is 2 new games...

George defo should have been booked.. From my viewpoint
in the Derrynane he was expecting the crunching tackle which
never came and so he threw himself down... a little stupid..
I agree that Fenn should have got a run out...

The major downside of the match is a little blip on our good run at present but hopefully the lads won't dwell on it for too long...
