Dobbsy had been struggling towards the end of the first half and Wexford brought on Dinny Corcoran at the start of the second period. On three minutes, a huge gap opened up in the Wexford defence to allow a Cobh forward to face Alex Moody unopposed, and he finished it to the corner for 1-0 to Cobh. Cobh should have scored a second immediately after as another Cobh forward was allowed run at Alex Moody, but this time it was pushed wide of the Wexford post. Wexford brought on Jordon Tallon and Ger Shortt with Evan Farrell coming on later and Shortt in particular brought some urgency to the Wexford attack. Shortt’s ability down the left wing and good cross found Harry Groome in the box and his first-time effort gave Hunt no chance for 1-1. However, another mistake in the Wexford defence when a ball was cleared straight to a Cobh attacker allowed Cobh to regain the lead at 2-1. With seven minutes to go, Wexford again equalised when the ball was stood up at the far post to give Luka Lovic the chance to head home from close in. Wexford applied some pressure at the end but couldn’t get the winner. Best for Wexford were Luka Lovic, Eoin Farrell and Ger Shortt while Cobh grafted well for former Wexford manager, Shane Keegan. About 350 at the game.
