Game which exploded into life in the final half-hour after Wexford had been serenely ahead after 60 minutes albeit with a slender one-goal lead. Fortunately, the away side were able to find the extra gear to come away with the three points. Wexford started with Maeve, Della, Nicola, Lolly, Edel, Aoibheann, Rossi, Becky, Kylie, Ellen and with Jess up front. Wexford pretty much dominated the first half but only went in at half-time with a single goal advantage. First decent Wexford chance fell to Becky Watkins who side-footed wide after the ball fell to her from a Wexford corner. Kylie Murphy then had two efforts on goal but neither troubled Kelly in the Bohs goal too much. The lead goal came for Wexford on 21 minutes when Rossi’s pass put Ellen Molloy in the clear. Ellen finished well past Kelly and Wexford were a goal to the good. Headers from both Rossi and Kylie failed to add to Wexford’s tally in the first half and it was 1-0 to Wexford at half-time. The nearest Bohs had come in the first half was a speculative volley which had sailed comfortably over Wexford’s crossbar. 1-0 to Wexford at half-time.

Wexford continued their domination of the game at the start of the second-half as Ellen Molloy had various shots which went close and Kylie Murphy hit the underside of the Bohs crossbar after more good work by Molloy. Bohs then forced two corners down the Wexford end, before on 21 minutes, a good cross into the Wexford area saw former Wexford player, Kira Bates Crosbie, plant a firm header to the Wexford net and it was 1-1. Bohs then forced the Wexford defence to clear almost on their own goal-line, before Kylie Murphy profited from a thumping tackle by Ellen Molloy on a Bohs defender inside the Bohs area to restore Wexford’s lead. It was 3-1 to Wexford on 75 minutes when Nicola Sinnott prodded home after a step-over from a Wexford corner. Bohs then cut the deficit once again when Lisa Murphy headed home a Bohs set-piece to make it 3-2. Meabh Russell, a sub for Wexford, made it safe for Wexford at 4-2 when she buried a rebound from Bohs keeper, Kelly, after more good work by Molloy. The fifth goal by another Wexford sub, Aine Walsh, then put the icing on the cake for Wexford for a final score of five goals to two after a helter-skelter final half-hour. Best for Wexford were Ellen Molloy, Edel Kennedy and the Wexford back five.
