Congrats to Cathedral on a fantastic season. Hope they keep the momentum going into the next few seasons. They deserved a day out at the cross in fairness. No doubt they will enjoy the celebrations anyway.

I agree , better team won this morning. Twas a decent game in fairness but the extra quality up front told in the end for Cathedral . A few really top class strikes . Good crowd as well. Best of luck to Cathedral , enjoy the success an we'll done to Grattan for never giving up.

Cathedral much the better side. Grattan lucky to have had a handy cup draw. Started the season well in the league, could've been under pressure for promotion otherwise.

First 30.MINS Catherdrsl should of battered Grattan.

Last 15 Grattan had Cathredal on the ropes.

First 10 in the 2nd Grattan battered Cathedral, then a corner that was never a corner (an let anyone who actually saw the saw the game admit it wasn't a corner ) was awarded an a bad individual error was compounded by 2 more bad errors an in 5 mins its 3 nil.

The rest is neither here nor there, game over .

    But please keep it real.

Some tis only a game a ball , let's be fair.

Fully agree. I was at the game also and as a neutral I thought it was a decent game. Naturally being a few divisions higher they were by far the better team in possession, while they had all of the ball in the first 30 there wasn't many clear chances to be fair, grattan could have easily got one at the other end too. For the first 10 mins or so of the second it was all Grattan, Duffy(linesman) gave a corner that wasn't a corner, keeper should have dealt with it, fella on the line could have dealt with it, neither did and Cathedral had a tap in. Even after that Grattan had a spell where they had a corner etc. Then there was an injury to a player and after that Cathedral scored 4 goals in 5 mins or so, poor defending, mistakes, lovely strikes. Congratulations to Cathedral, fine side and wish them continued success, commiserations to Grattan Bs, never a 6-0 game and they gave a good account of themselves. Great crowd up watching

no one will remember any of that game and the record won’t say it was never a corner ..it will state cup win cathedral and much the better team to big up to Niall built a fantastic team great credit due to all involved nice double he put in a hard service on and off the pitch for this ..aul a disgrace guy s set out at seasons start for a visit to the cross trust the aul to come up short.

I wonder did Grattan's carry on at the Mossie final affect the location? Having it up in Castleview is very disappointing alright.

In relation to Temple going MSL, are teams able to switch over again? I thought MSL were trying to cut down on teams and even this year I heard there might be a few teams who wont get their application renewed.

You would imagine if it was open again for teams to move that Coachford would surely make switch at this stage?

buttevant are going back aul i think , some others from premier 2nd division dropping to junior. do wonder would coachford fancy themselves to give msl a rattle. surely their players must be getting fed up of playing the same few teams all the time.

AUL would want Turners Cross for all finals, they'd have had limited numbers. However, a better facility would have been a better choice for final.

Will that be Buttevants Senior team? What division likely?

There has been rumours of clubs making a return from the MSL for the past number of years and nothing so far.
If one comes you could see a few more follow but is there anything concrete to prove that Buttevant returning is true?

well they'd pulled out of their league by feb which is shambolic. can they be trusted to complete a league season in the junior tiers? not sure why the msl would want to keep a hold of a club who was acting like that

If memory servers me right the season they left the AUL they didn’t field a team on a few occasions.

They were premier A at that stage after a few very good years.

You would imagine any team returning from Senior would have to go premier A at worst but wouldn’t surprise me if they ended up in the 1st division

I heard Killumney have folded. It's a shame but I think that's going to be the way with a few teams over the next season. Commitment levels have only gotten worse

A lot of people on this seem to forget it was both clubs at it that day out in turners cross and not just the north side club, coachford a team are an outstanding team who need to push on from the aul and try there hand in the MSL but there also another club between them and there B team who are also very fond of getting matches abandoned

If Killumney are gone it’s a real shame saw them last season and they were excellent.

But it isn’t their 1st time falling down.

But there is a clear theme emerging most teams that fail have done so before.

Greenmount this season and possibly Killumney.
Blarney St did last season, the likes of the Glen, Bohs, Central Rovers the list goes on.

The key here is structure there is no structure in any of these teams and while they might be very strong teams.

They have no plan b should things become tricky and there could be a million reasons for things becoming tricky.

And you can be sure we will see some of these teams return to the AUL in the near future.

So now the question of divisions will once again rear its head we know for sure 2 teams are gone from division 2 and possibly more up along and Knocknaheeney the only team confirmed to be returning.

The AUL tried to do something with no relegation but with teams folding the benefit of this has been lessened.

    County Cup saga continues.

Winner of tonight's Churchvilla v Ard Na Loa will play Bosco's on Sunday morning.

Looks like both Bweeng and Banteer out

Madness if that’s the case. Banteer didn’t even get a chance to play ??
