Very comfortable win for Galway tonight as Wexford found it hard to put a dent in the away side’s chassis for the entire game. Is it the gap between full-time and part-time teams? Wexford started with Alex, Adam, Conor C, Mitchell, Joe, Conor B, Frieler, Luka, Dobbsy, Jack D, and Harry. Although Wexford passed the ball around reasonably well in the first half, the main area of concern was the concession of such easy goals. After Alex Moody made a good save from a Galway corner, Wexford allowed Brouder of Galway to have a free run at another corner and his header beat Moody for 1-0 to Galway. On 16 minutes, Stephen Walsh of Galway was let turn and shoot too easily from an angle and it was 2-0. Criminally, Walsh was allowed stand on his own at Wexford’s far post at another Galway corner and it was a simple task to make it 3-0. Wexford had been able to manage a couple of shots on target during this half but all were easy catches for Kearns in the Galway goal. 3-0 to Galway at half-time.
