Five different winners in the last six years. Considering how important the FAI Cup is, it is great to see it spread around.
Got me thinking, instead of putting more prize money into the league, would it be more beneficial to bump the prize money of the different rounds of the FAI cup? Might have a better trickle-down effect than league prize money.
Some lads' fags got nicked and all hell broke loose
"Now jump up there and stuff that son of a bitch in the basket, chief"
Someone said "ah sure maybe Dalymount would have been ok"
For me Dervin was a surprise starter I thought Duff would have started Coyle in a defensive disruptor role like in the Waterford S/F, Aodh did ok put alot of energy maybe too much he seemed to be the only one not letting the occasion get the best of him. Boyd had a bad one, that's him one week he is a very effective handful or struggles the next week getting frustrated. O'Driscoll is an honest lad but hasn't looked comfortable in the defence and has been on the bench for the last while I'll be surprised if he is back with us next season
The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians
Shels are capable of playing much better. There had been very little between us in the four previous games this season, and I was shocked at how poor they were on the day.
We'd said before the match that an early goal would be needed to open the game up, but in truth, I don't think that would have mattered. We controlled the game from the start, and Shels didn't look like they'd score at all. Graydon starting was a risk, but it certainly paid off. Could have got MOTM.
Great day down at Lansdowne, biggest away Derry crowd I've seen. First time I've been in the upper tiers (my ST is south lower), and it's actually a lovely spot to watch the match from. Great to see fans of other clubs there too. Had thought the €20 price may have put people off, but the good weather liked helped with that.
Interesting - if the same format is followed next season, with the 20 League clubs in Round One, with the four Junior Cup semi-finalists and 14 out of the last 16 of the Intermediate involved at least in the prelims, then there could be two ex-league clubs competing next year, in Home Farm or Drumcondra, and the winner is guaranteed to be so:
