It's a version of the Arsenal cup final song. I know Bohs and Rovers both have a version of it.

Are Cockhill any good? Would have preferred to have been away of course. That's Letterkenny, Pike Rovers, Janesboro all at home in the last couple of years, and only CIÉ Ranch away (which was a cracking game). Kind of defeats the point.
Agree, would have preferred UCD to have been away, and would have introduced a bit of extra cup romance, while also a little bit of cup jeopardy. Think we win that one comfortably, even with Kerrigan departed

Anyone know how Usher Celtic are in the FAI cup? They seem well down the divisions (AUL Major 1c Saturday). I don't know much about AUL but is Sunday League higher than Saturday League?

Some people say the Saturday League is light years ahead of the Sunday one. But in reality, you're only talking 24hrs.

They were Junior Cup finalists in 2020 weren't they? But I thought it was just the previous years competition that counted?

Appears that anyone who reached the last 16 of the Intermediate (bar Collinstown), and the Junior semis were either included in the first round draw, or got a bye to this stage:

Rovers fans have sung "She Wore a Green Ribbon" specifically for the FAI Cup for all the 40 years plus that I've been going. I think it's probably the oldest song still sung at Rovers.

edit: ignore me , they must have changed the rules to allow last 16 of the intermediate cup - I forgot about the preliminary round

Just looking at the First Round fixtures for the end of this month to plan a few trips - anyone know when it'll be confirmed what specific dates each fixtures will be on ? With Derry, Harps and Bonagee all at home, for example, you'd expect Bonagee to do the sensible thing and go with a date and time for when the other two aren't playing.

You'd think, but if they were looking to make it awkward for Pike Rovers, Friday evening would be ideal for them.

Bonagee will try to avoid a clash with Harps anyway. Lot of Bonagee officials, and even players, would be regulars in Finn Park.

As Joey says, Sunday 2pm would be best guess but they might go for Saturday evening either.

Thanks for this. Shame there aren't more games on the Saturday, to enable a few more non-league trips (though I appreciate the numbers of people interested in that like myself are probably smlall)

Sunday is good as well. Probably going to take in Bonagee v Pike myself. I'd imagine a good few Harps fans will take that one in too

Derry-Oliver Bond moved to the Saturday at 5pm.
Presumably it's to aid their lads who'd need a half day otherwise.

We'd rarely have a Saturday home game, especially in the afternoon. Can't see a large crowd for this.
