Quite enjoying how this weekend has ended up playing out it has to be said. Softened the blow of our own shambles of a performance anyway.

Derry haven't been great since the red, a lot of aimless crosses this half. Perhaps a bit too over confident having to play ten men.

Derry’s double to lose? You’re 1 point ahead, have 2 games in hand and a superior goal difference. You also don’t have to worry about additional cup games. It’s your league and Derry’s cup to lose.

last thing we needed was a grueling cup tie on a ****e pitch with ten men.

we are starting to look very ragged although the second half performance was good.

peno was a peno on second viewing to be fair but I don't think you can send Grace off as well. he had his eyes on the ball the whole time.

just keep yourselves focused on the cup please Derry.

You and your dalk-ie mates best get into that church and in your knees praying for derry to win the cup, or your expensive looking squad won't qualify for Europe.
Fair play to derry, better side on the day, and who can begrudge ex Rovers Lafferty & Kavanagh a shot at silverware.

Away in Derry, that'll be the end of that. But should be good experience at least.

Yes, the squad is so expensively assembled that we couldn’t afford to hold onto the best defender in the league in the summer.

Will Waterford have to put in some temporary seating into RSC to cater for the crowd or are they allowed a bit of standing around the perimeter of the running track? Demand for that game could be huge.

Will look like a cheap signing in hindsight if he costs you Europe.
Not that bothered tbh with tonight , would have liked to win but winning the league is all i care about really since the 32 year hoodoo was broken.
If we dont beat Shels and UCD Bradley should play the 19s in Europe, we arent going to win the Conference league but we can win our own league.
If he loses sight of that its nuts

Dont be deflecting now PC, a league and cup double would have been a hell of a way for Bradley to sign off if he decides to move on. it stings for any of us out at this stage. Dundalk were late in getting a squad together and wasnt at all expensive though that could be relative. We are in year 1 of a 3 year process with European qualification the target but it was more fans talking about this year. Can still happen considering how really tough a season it could have been. I'd have a totally different perspective if we'd goe through but it is good to see that the cup semis will involve 'new' sides and obviously Derry and Treaty are the hoped winners now!

A tranfer fee to Dundee and the players terms were just not possible and would have wiped out an early round of Europe participation - and no certainty to have got there. I dont blame the club in any way for saying nope! Sometimes you just have to accept where you are at and resist the overreach!

We had in temporary seating before in the late 90s and early 00s before the East Stand was built. You are correct, demand for this game will be huge and there will be added pressure to install temporary seating behind the goals in order to cater for an expected bumper crowd. As it stands, the capacity of the RSC is 5,000 (3,000 seats - 2,000 standing).

There were also plans to extend the Cork Road Stand to bring seating capacity in the RSC up to 5,000 but that got shelved due to lack of funding.

Agree a double would be fantastic and until they achieve one ; this team will ‘only’ be regarded as a very good side within Rovers and of course externally a great side when compared to other clubs achievements and that’s assuming they complete 3-in a row league titles .

To attain ‘great’ side status when measured against the parthenon of previous Rovers teams more is required.

The benchmark at Rovers is higher than at any other club due to our historical success unmatched by others ( the next level above great is ‘legendary’ held by the 4 in a row teams) so for their own legacy not just Bradley’s the challenge is to attain at least one double.

Cue the usual bitter/jealous comments from those that can’t accept facts.😜

Would the club ever have ambitions to build their own football stadium? RSC is a grand enough ground but with obvious limitations, and the running track is a disaster for watching games.

The most important thing for the club now is stability. Long way off ever dreaming about our own ground. The new owner is in talks with the council over a 50 year licence. Aside from that the RSC pitch is generally up there as one of the best.

Besides away supporters not being happy with the view I don’t believe in the track excuse, yes it’s be fantastic to be on top of the pitch. When the clubs doing well and winning and there’s a buzz around the club tickets sell well. When sh*t is hitting the pot off pitch and the results aren’t going well generally that tends to the excuse for people not going. But we’d be crazy to be even considering our own ground right now. The RSC has some really good facilities outside of using it as our home ground.

IMO, a new ground isn’t even on the list of concerns! You’re right there’s limitations to playing in the RSC, but right now there’s nothing to suggest even if we’d our own 5k seater that attendances would exceed those at the RSC.

None of us are living in fairy land just yet, a couple games with 3k plus in attendance is great an all but we’re all very aware the potential is there for a good crowd. It’s silly talk looking for a new ground because of the potential. The crowds would need to be consistently that high in the medium term to be even considering the idea of a bigger ground tbh. I’d imagine it’d be a lot more realistic to think there’s potential for the stands to be extended and lengthen in the RSC then us financing and building a new ground from scratch. This reminds me of the time Cork sold out turners cross 3/4 games in arrow a few years ago and one particular fella was banging on about how Cork should move to a bigger ground and apply to join the SPL.
