wouldn't write us - or Shels - off just yet, Pete; we're 15 points behind but with 2 games in hand - one a home match with Pats which we should win, the other, much tougher, away to Derry. On the plus side, in the 3rd series of matches we're home to all three teams currently above us - with a last match against Shels; so even if its between the 2 cities by ten - and I think Derry will fade a bit - it could be a contest for top team in Dublin

Don't rule out Rovers yet. We've fifteen games left and if we can win them all, and if every other team can somehow not earn any more points, we'll easily win the title.

i think it's still a three horse race. cork, derry and bohs. bohs are the form team at the moment and got a great win last night. derry -v- bohs will be a huge game. i'd love to see that one on setanta.

I'd say it's a 2 horse race alright with Derry and Bohs battling it out come November. Too many people at Cork that dont know what it's like to win something and to be honest I reckon they'll choke when the pressure comes on.

Down to 4 teams after last night, Drogheda are gone for this season.

Between City, Derry, $hel$ and Bohs.

Not a chance ..... most of the player thrive on it !! ..... it'll have to be something other than that.

Cork City have lost only 1 league game in last 30 since September 2004. This form is not temporary.

First ye said we'd struggle without Doyle but we've scored 27 excluding his & which is more than all other clubs excluding Shels.

Then ye said City wouldn't cope with being top of the table - they've increased confidence & now are playing better every week.

Then ye said would struggle with all Euro games - last week travelled from Lithunia-Cork-Drogs in less than 3 days & still won with 10 men.

Even playing a 41 year old 3rd choice keeper cannot stop us.

Everyones waiting for City to slip up but no sight of it yet. The best one i;ve heard is that we haven't had a bad spell yet so we due one & then Shels will catch us - Looking at another could say Shels have no lives left, 1 more slipup & will be much too far behind. City can even afford a bad run & still lead the table.

If any bookie would take bets on the league i'd be investing in City now.

How do you figure that one out Pete? IF we win our game in hand we'll be only 4 behind you...so how could you afford a bad run? Unless you envisage a bad run being one defeat... .

Bohs fans keeping thinking were gonna fade, you and the rest of the league have been doing this all season although we have now gone unbeaten in what is 14 games? we have conceded 11 goals in 17 matches and we are now scoring from all over the park, you guys need to catch yourself on and start giving credit to Derry City, there are very few people that have given us credit for what we have achieved this season, Galway fans and some Cork fans have given us credit but thats all, keep thinking that boys, its the half way point in the season and who would have suggested Derry would be sitting 2nd, 7 points behind the leaders a game in hand and 7 points ahead of shels with a game in hand also, keep telling yourselves that we arent gonna keep it up lads coz we are and were gonna be there or there abouts!!!!

Yeah 1 defeat would be a bad run

I meant to comment more about both Citys as this is the common theme amoung the Dublin media. I just think its ludicrous to say that sometime like Shels have had theiu bad run so won't have another one in the rest of the season.

League is between Derry & Cork City. If we go on to win the league i really hope Derry City rub it into the dublin media & take 2nd.

I would have Derry favourites for the Cup. Cork City v Derry City final would be great day out!

Would be a real surprise if the title ends up in Dublin now.
There are 4 teams left in it, but one of the 2 Citys have the most realistic chance of winning it........

It'll take a mircale for shels to come back into it, but Derry are realistically only 4 pts behind us and bohs have the potential to do damage in their games in hand. It feels strange not to be working out what results we need to catch the leaders.. we ARE the leaders. all we have to do is keep playing the way we are and we'll win. it'll even be weird if we dont win the league on the last day of the season... sure wheres the heart stopping tension of derry only managing a draw and handing us the title with 2 games left.
