Pats said that they only looked at 40 players, surely if the whole league was looked at then there would be even more discrepiencies.IMO 1 of either 3 things will happen:
1)a) ALL of the registration forms for ALL of the clubs & their players will be re-examined, and then full penilty of 3pts per game wil be taken away from each club with incomplete forms
1)b) The league will decide that the 3point rule for unpropperly registered players should be bypassed for this year (as there are so many clubs with impropperly filled out forms) and impose a fine and warning (ie the origional punishment for Pats).
2) Do nothing. Keep Pats' 15 points from them, and leave the other clubs off scott free.
I think 1b is the best option, with a rewriting of the league rules, but Id say that 2 will be the one taken
Sack the board before they retire?![]()
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.
if pats can prove that they are the only ones being punished, despite others being guiilty then they have a right to be upset. The best thing would have been to declare an investigation into all clubs and all players in september when the problem first arose, then this could have been completed by now. No doubt the FAI will do their best to upset everyone before sorting it out.
Pat's are being very clever. They only want to look at $hels, Rovers, Bohs and City, i.e only the clubs they think could possibly win the league, pass them out etc. They are not looking at the rest. The only way to settle this, is for all clubs with players found to be not registered should have the points docked. Pat's should have the 9 "Marney " points docked as well, and then we will see the shape of the league.
I think it will be the only way the "big" Dublin clubs will be brought to their senses and stop the bullsh*t going on between them, and it may get the eL sorted out once and for all.
Who knows Longford as champions.....
even City....(Gunther is God, wha?)...![]()
and does anyone think Ollie Byrne would have carried on his "crusade for the rules" if it had been monaghan and not pats? Doubt itOriginally posted by oddboy

If 2 unregistered players play in the same game, should 3 or 6 points be docked? Im in the dark about this one. Surely it would only be 3?Originally posted by oddboy

Yeah you are right, but my point is that every team should have the full amount of points docked for games with unregistered players, and then let's see what is left. Maybe Dolan is right when he said the "champions would have zero points and the rest minus points."Originally posted by Troy.McClure

Interesting scenario, wouldn't you say?...![]()
But a club might have an unregistered player who barely played any games or never played a game.
Team could win the league cos they had a crap players unregistered too.

Only unregistered players who play would cause a points docking, ie if Ollie was impropperly regestered for us, then we would be fecked, but if it was Jonny C or Mooney, then the out come wouldnt be so bad.Originally posted by pete

Does anyone fancy a bet on Monaghan winning the league?![]()

...we should wait and see just what these 28 irregularities are before we start with our doomsday senarios. Pats have been less that honest throughout (Ollie B is not the only pig headed chancer in this sorry mess Eanna) and they will be looking to muddy the waters even more now. Just because the FAI are a joke and Ollie B wouldn't win any popularity prizes doesn't make St Pats innocent in all of this.
don't worry, they couldn't hit an elephant at this dis......
I'm not saying pats are innocent, even their fans admit they c0cked-up, but the FAI and Ollie have made things a lot worse.
Eanna, in fairness. You must be a Pats fan in disguise. get the bloody german wool out of your eyes. Pats broke the rules. Full Stop. End of story. Shels are not trying to make the affair worse, they are simply standing up for what is right. And what is right is that Pats lose their 15 points PLUS the 9 from the Marney affair. It shouldnt just be Shels who are fighting this. All the clubs in the eL should be fighting it. I must say. Pat Dolan has gone down a long way in my estimation.
I think they should be relegated and made an example of. And yes, the FAI big f up, but Pats should have registered thier player. How fecking hard can it be????
And now we have this twaddle about about a playoff. Christ. What a farce.
they should just forget about this season and make sure they enforce the rules for the next season. nopointin complaining about what can't really be fixed. declare the season void.
plus that'll scrap city's awful record this season![]()
I don't disagree with any of that, all I'm saying is that if they aren't the only ones who broke the rules- as they claim- then they shouldn't be the only ones to be punished!Originally posted by GWA
