It seems like this guy Fallon is having a mare these days, the Irish Sun beckons

Italian journalist reporting that Heffernan to Newcastle is a done deal.
Played well. Deserves to be in the next squad - as does Manning.
I'd leave him with the U21s for the Turkey game unless he's down to start for the seniors away to France. Have him link up with the seniors when they arrive back to Ireland for the Holland game. Think the U21s have San Marino in the second game and can start someone like Johnny Kenny or Zak Gilsenan in that game.
The senior qualification campaign is yet another very early write-off. May as well expose Ebosele to some adult international football experience. He looks a talent, and I'd hate for us to lose him.
Are we liable to lose him?
If Festy starts a string of serie A games, talk of keeping him with the 21s is just silly. We are not exactly blessed with top tier talent
But there's been no even semi-serious talk of him switching has there? I think he's fine
Italian clubs often field an understrength team in the cups AFAIK. The league season will be more interesting. Obviously if, as Tommy says, he starts a string of league games he should be called up. McClean's drop to the fourth tier has highlighted (again) how urgent our fullback problems are
Cathal Heffernan is in Newcastle to finalise his transfer.
Festy starts season opener at home to Juventus
Its really not that complicated!!!
Gave away a penalty due to handball, very harsh IMO. Udinese v poor, 0-2 down. Festy doing ok defensively, certainly improved that aspect. Not much chance going forward so far
McJannet played for Lecce u19 in their 1-0 loss to Roma in the primavera final yesterday. Seems to do ok. Full match easily found on YouTube. Will be interesting to see his loan move (presumably) this season
James Abankwah has joined Charlton on loan
