Dont think it was 84 either, we played Linfield that year in the first round of the european cup! think it was 1982!
Thomas Davis have said they will be the last man standing, they were WRONG!!

I do, however, know that the game in question took place in 1982 and not 1984. It was the UEFA Cup first round, Giles' second venture into Europe with the Hoops. We won 7-0 over the two legs, but then lost 2-0 in Milltown to Craoiva and 3-0 in Romania, thus crashing out 5-0 over the two legs.
As regards the team, I'd have to check the Robert Goggins book, which, sad as I am, I don't usually bring into work with me every day.
