Wexford will probably be happy enough with the point tonight as, in a match of few chances, Hunty was the busier of the two goalkeepers and Wexford survived a major shock in the second minute of injury time when a Bray shot bobbled along the ground, hit the inside of the Wexford post and seemed almost to defy the laws of physics to stay out. With Crowley, Doherty, Dobbs and O’Sullivan all missing, Wexford’s squad is beginning to creak a bit. Wexford started with Hunty, Paul, Lorcan, Joe, Frieler, Conor B, Jordon, Harry, Adam and with Dinny and Conor D up front. There weren’t many chances in the first half as both sides went long fairly often with Hugh Douglas mopping up everything aerially for Bray and Joe Manley and Paul Cleary doing the same for Wexford. On 22 minutes, Conor Davis had a free on target for Wexford but McGuinness in the Bray goal got down comfortably. Bray then had a good spell with Hunty reacting well to save at his near post and then rushing out from his goal to prevent a Bray break. 0-0 at half-time.
Second half continued in much the same manner with neither goal being really threatened. On eight minutes, a Bray player rounded Hunty wide out, but near the end-line could only stroke the ball into the side-netting. Midway through the half, Dinny Corcoran got a low shot away for Wexford but McGuinness was able to push it away. Dinny then had a chance to chip McGuinness in the Bray goal but it went a yard or two over the Bray bar. Conor Davis then attempted to lob McGuinness but it went over the bar as well and the game looked to be heading for the dull 0-0 until that effort by Bray in the second minute of injury-time which somehow stayed out. 0-0 at full-time with Wexford subs including Thomas Considine and Evan Farrell. Best for Wexford, in addition to its defence, included Jordon Tallon and Adam Wells in midfield and Conor Davis up front, while Callum Thompson was the pick of the players for Bray.
