Heartbreak for Ballyheane of Mayo, they thought they had won it and it's not very clear that their goalkeeper was off his line or not , the BT keeper should not have a say on the matter. Is it the rules that if the keeper comes off his line evn though the peno is well wide it has to be retaken or is it if the keeper saves the peno after coming offhis line it has to be retaken.

    • if the ball misses the goal or rebounds from the crossbar or goalpost(s), the kick is only retaken if the goalkeeper’s offence clearly impacted on the kicker

How could the ref. order the peno to be retaken even if the keeper was off his linee, according to Law 14 as above, the keeper dives to his left and the peno is missed on the left of takers, so it could not have imacted. Allso according to a report in the Mayo news how could did they decide he was off his line when their was no line between the goal posts.

As disappointing as it was no doubt . If you look at the footage , irrelevant of the keeper coming off his line , the footage clearly shows the opposition keeper clearly inside the area when the penalty was taken . To the letter of the law , an the law can be cruel . Fairness won through.

He might being off his line but clearly shows when the penaly was taken his foot was on the line, which is what is required, not his 2 feet
As i showed by the law, to be retaken the player has to be put off by the keeper if off the line, u can't say the player being put off, the keeper dived one way and the penalty was miss by couple of yards wide of the opposite post.
