Do you think the location of the ground has impacted attendances Forza? It’s a quite a bit outside the town….

My own view is that the location of the ground has only marginal impact. If we had a team that was battling at the top of the table, you'd get the attendances at Ferrycarrig as history shows. As a new club, however, we were never going to have a ground inside the Wexford bypass.

No more than Longford I find it hard to believe ground location doesn’t play a part , I mean for a lad that goes for a few pints after work and then might go to the game surely it makes a big difference If the ground is fairly central and you can walk to the game

Yeah I know when we were in Abbeycartron our crowds werent that spectacular at all except for when Derry City visited us in the mid 80s. The only reason we only got huge crowds over 20 yrs ago was winter football and there was no GAA. I think that has to be a factor imo. Bishopsgate is 3 miles out of town and would put off ppl that dont drive.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

I'll get in early with this being an attendance of 3.5k. I will guess at 3200 + change will be announced by the club

    *3409 announced.

Out of curiosity, how many away fans would UCD have brought to the Pat's game last night?

Looked to be 3,000 in the Brandywell. Lowest attendance this season.

Crowds seem to be dropping off, very poor numbers at games the past weekend. Need a strong marketing campaign from the FAI to get the Irish soccer public interested in the league.

Rovers v Bohs sold out 4 days before the game takes place, another 7500 attendance.
Seriously impressive we didn't have crowds approaching that in 2010 / 11.
The work the Rovers board have done over the last few years has been fantastic.
The free Kids season tickets a few years ago did a lot for building attendances now, also community work has been strong.

Just think how big your crowds would be if you had a football shirt made out of dead bus seats ?

Can someone tell me the PD's average attendances for this season (broken down by club if possible, though not essential) Also the corresponding figure for 2019, if not too much trouble.

    Thanks in advance.

If you scroll back a few pages you'll see the last summary that Nigel did. It hasn't been updated for a while yet, but we also had the 2 week break inbetween.
