No doubt that sort of thing went on in the past, but it's much harder to do in an era when most tickets are bought online. You'd hope Irish clubs are above that sort of shenanigans in this day and age anyway.

I;m not suggesting Dundalk do this btw. Just highloighting what the hackneyed old tale was of what used to go on.
Derry fans would certainly know. It doesnt make any sense financially any more, I doubt the over/under declaring crowd is to create some image of big support or can play the poor mouths. The most likely issue is that fans are not good at independently guestimating crowds and that the official numbers announced are accurate.

Topping your salary up with a hundred quid cash each match day is still better than getting paid it through a payslip.

Ok, poorly put. It makes little sense to me for clubs to cook the books, risking the hassle of being caught out. Disgruntled (former) employees may not be too discreet and word does tend to get round.

1575 in for Waterford v Cork, big away support, locals dropping off as results continue to disappoint.

Which means a 4,100+ official capacity with approximately 800 Bohs fans at the open terraced Ballybough End I presume?

Pats aren't North Dublin for a start And Shels aren't as good as Bohs are at self-promotion/publicity.

Depends how big the segregation buffer zone is in the East stand, which seems a little wider this year - but i'd say thats pretty much a sellout for this year yes.

8,000 seats with no buffer zones - max I've seen for a big league match was 7,522 against Dundalk in 2020.

7,765 - winning the league last year vs Drogs with no bufferer zone for away crowd.

Really good crowd for a Monday evening, 13 k through the gate over the 2 Easter fixtures not half shabby.

I worded that wrongly, I was at tolka today for the first time and thought it was a great old school ground and the shels fans were brilliant

Didn't get any figure yet, but I'd say about 1,800 or so in Finn Park. Disappointing enough away crowd from Sligo, about 150 or 200 at best.

1100-1200 at the Bowl I'd say, going off the stand being about three-quarters full

Looked less than that on the stream, Sligo Rovers away support has well dropped off overall since all games are streamed now.

I am all in favour of streaming but there are definitely people not traveling as a result of streaming which is costing clubs money
The number of streams being sold will barely cover the costs so while i think it is here to stay it is a net drain at the moment and possibly to cheep
I suspect next season will be different

To be honest if marketed properly I think streaming is the way to go I really do. If I had travelled up to Bray day return by train that woul d have cost me forty euros plus 15e to pay in.But I think our clubs should get a cut out of the pot. Its only fair!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

The point you make Martinho is that you were better off which is fair enough from your point of view but the net result from the clubs perspective is that Bray missed out on €15 from you plus maybe a cup of coffee or a bag of chips.
They and the rest of the clubs will get nothing from the streaming after costs at the end of the season so its a lose lose from the clubs perspectives.
I dont think many home fans will opt out to watch on a stream but away crowds will suffer sometimes.
Dundalks attendance in Tallaght last night was as low as ive seen from them in many a year

Regular season ticket holder called it 300+ at Cobh Ramblers v Athlone on Monday last.

So that’s anything between 300 and the ground capacity of 4000 then?
