I don't think any club fans would be confident of a full revenue audit, bar Rovers who've obviously just had one.

Ticket issue is neither here nor there - it's the PAYE that'll be the problem for clubs.

Shels fans are seriously deluded if they think that they'd be in the clear anymore or less than any other club.

How many clubs issue payslips and P60's?

Harps do. Roll on the audit. We've been paying PAYE on amonthly basis and in regular contact with revenue for almost 4 years now, the sooner the vast majority of other clubs are brought down to the same level playing field the better. Please God let this be true.

Higgins, please please go and look up 'examinership' in a dictionary. Examinership was a massive gamble - we could have gone out of business last Friday - but it was a gamble we had to take. Feel free to do the same at Shels and see how you get on. But please stop talking through your hat about our situation.

The revenue have issues with 16 clubs

5 of those clubs more serious than the rest. Rovers where top of that list up to last Friday, but not by a long shot from 2nd worst club

Thats all I heard from today

the difference is that Rovers havent a pot to **** in
the other clubs have assets ie there grounds
so if the taxman wants to play hardball
he can find ways of making them clubs pay
all he could do with Rovers was put them out of Business

To the best of my knowledge most clubs don't have many assets. Few own their grounds outright and some have long term leases. Many like Cork, Waterford etc just rent. I honestly don't believe the revenue will put clubs out of business, although I do think they will come down hard. The sooner the better they do as well as its common knowledge that clubs around the league break the law week in week out.

Its surprising the Revenue Commissioners have issues with eL club tax bills as i would ahve expected them to make clubs produce a tax clearance cert before accepting any Capital Grants?

The big issue with the revenue is the manner in which players are paid. Most clubs agree a net salary, made up of wages swelled by allowances/expenses that are beyond dubious.
I'd love to see an audit of all contracts, comparing the copies in players, clubs and EL hands. It would make for hilarious reading.

It should not matter how big your debts are really..

Clubs all over Europe are in debt by many mnay million more then any EL club is. Id say they have a bigger problem with clubs who no longer wish to pay their debts.

Not sure if its got through to your brain. But those clubs in dept of millions also generate millions. When EL clubs get into serious dept theres really f all options open to them to get out of it. The holy grail of CL group stages seems to be some clubs "fix it" answer. A quality plan

    Joeraki..

Any business is entitled to get themselves into debt. you go to the bank with a business plan and the bank manager makes a decision on you getting money or not.

There is a limit to how much debt you are allowed get yourself into before banks and other credtors will start to say your not good for it.

Take Shels for example! They will get bigger loans then Athlone due to them having more assists and bigger potential to pay of those debts.

I really dont see the problem of running a business that has debts?

Borrowing to pay players wages is always a bad idea. Borrowing for capital projects such as a stadium is good business.

There isn't - it depends on what the debts are for. If the expenses are going to be found to be evasion, then clubs that are apparently okay are going to fooked.
