    O'Brien

Just a question... When you played at Tolka recently I was told that Stephen O'Brien is the smallest goalkeeper in European top flight football... Is that true ?

And why do you call him "Digger" ??

According to the man himself the nickname came about because the players thought he had aslight english accent after returning from Gillingham and he sounded like John Barnes. (Barnes' nickname was Digger) hence the nickname. Bizzare but true.........Allegedly

No he definitely doesn't have a lisp. Maybe he'll explain it himself, he has been known to be browsing this fine site before. As for smallest goalkeeper, don't know how true that is but I can't imagine there's too many smaller than Digger out there.

    What's a lisp ?

He's very small yeah, but everytime I've seen Longford play, it didn't make a difference. He jumps amazingly high and fast, even with a corner kick I think the defence doesn't have too much to worry about. He grabs the ball out of the upper corners of the goal with ease.

How tall is he ? (in meters please, I still haven't figured out how big a foot or an inch is )

    About 1.73m (1 foot = 30.5cm, 1 inch = 2.5cm)

Small, but still okay. Jorge Campos was only 1m75 and he played 2 World Cups and a Confederation Cup with Mexico !

Wouldn't be much point in them bidding for him. Apart from the fact he's an ex-Shels man, he's hanging up the gloves at the end of the season. You think he wouldn't go to Cork for a few months.
