    Going-up?

Forgive my ignorance, but can someone explain to me the promotion & relegation system that the EL operate?Do Lims still have a chance of going-up this season?

Winners of Division one automatically go up, runners up play off with team from second bottom of premier.
As to the chances of Limerick or Cobh for that matter, remember Limerick would only be three behind Dublin City if results went their way tonight, (i know it would be a very tall order for Athlone to get anything from tonight's game) but the top two could well go through a bad patch, remember Bray had a very poor run-in last year.
Remember too that Sligo have won their last 4 but were lucky to win against Cobh and yourselves.
To sum up don't give up hope, I haven't.

    Thats right.

We do have a chance still. We need things to go our way and I can't see Sligo going through the season without a wobble. Each of the chasing teams have had bad spells - we might be still in ours. Tonights game marks the half way stage - if we can go on a consistent run similar to two seasons ago then yes. Hope springs eternal.

What was that? Don't you just hate it when that happens? Pride before the fall and all that.

Has the format been changed or something?I could have sworn that Lims were in the play-offs v Derry City a couple of seasons ago, after finishing FOURTH in the league!

Yes the format has changed. Because the premier is now 12 team and the first 10 team (it was the opposite back then) there is only one play off spot for the first division.

Although it's not looking too clever at the moment,I wouldn't say it's a lost cause! We seem to have had a loss of form, and sooner or later both Sligo & Dublin City will suffer from this!Only a month ago I was boasting to my Ramblers supporting mate that Lims were on a roll & after stuffing Sligo we'd be unstoppable! So it can change, quickly!A win this weekend's big match at Ramblers could give us the confidence that we need in order to go on another run(like 2 seasons ago) & clinch one of the top two positions come end-of-season!

We'll have to wait and see. We are starting back into the hard games again though eg. Kildare, Dublin etc.

Plus we had a bad run earlier in the season so I dont think we deserve another one
