I had a feeling McGinty would play a part and Bala really should have won in normal time or ET.
€300,000 for making the next round according to Ocean FM. Motherwell next!

If Manus isn't going to keep going next season Rovers should be talking to mcginty about coming to tallaght. Is he out of contract at end of season I wonder?
Sligo extraordinarily lucky to get through. McGinty was terrific.
Crusaders leaving it till the death to beat the Magpies.
Worth noting the last two times LoI and LoW met, it was Dundalk 5-0 Newtown last year, and Derry 9-0 Aberystwyth in 2014. We'd won 8 of the last 9 games (the exception being TNS 4-0 Bohs) Sligo are through, but it sounds like a shocking performance. Motherwell will surely sleep easy tonight.
Fair play to McGinty, and as a UCD fan, that's about the best outcome we could have hoped for 120mins and the distraction now for Sligo significant, can't imagine they play anything other than a weakened team on Sunday
First time an Irish team has lost to Welsh opposition at home apparently…
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.
I think Georgia have passed us out as well this evening, so that's down to 44th in the rankings.
Will probably gain a couple of places back before the end of the campaign, although it's hard to see where the results are going to come from in the next round. A good EL draw for Rovers would be nice.
Edit - in fact, Bert Kassies has updated already, and Georgia are level with us, so joint 43rd. As close to 36th as 46th though.

Well done Sligo(and Rovers), as for us, the damage was done..
Premier Sports might pick up the Motherwell home game. Presume LOITV will do the game from the Showgrounds, unless Virgin Media pick it up, which you'd presume is unlikely.
https://kesslereffect.bandcamp.com/album/kepler - New music. It's not that bad.
The irony here, is that Sligo could now go out and give a good account of themselves against Motherwell. Lots of LOI teams have done well in a 2nd round qualifier after a very shaky 1st round qualifier.
This was a really weird comment seeing as he had kept us in the game to the point and eventually got us through on penalties. Best keeper in the league by a mile. Out of contract at the end of this year. Really don’t know how he hasn’t gotten a move yet.
We’re rubbish. Nothing much has changed since Russell took over.
Talk about getting lucky. Without McGinty, Bala would have won 4 nil. Sligo will need him to have the game of his life against Motherwell to avoid a similar score. Sligo were more toothless than Derry against Riga at home, and I didn't think that would be possible. Incredibly fortunate to be in the next round.

Are these results blips, or signs that the quality in the LOI is regressing? Outside of Shamrock is it a poor league this year?
It's good that 2 clubs have gotten through this week. Shamrock Rovers are guaranteed at least 3 more rounds of European football. Reasonable success will be winning one of those rounds. Getting past Hibernians was professional.
