Basically committed nobody pushing forward, tough night for gaffney and the forwards but sensible stuff. Still would have liked to push on for a win but I suppose that's why I'm a fan and not a manager

Wish I hadn’t bothered with that game but Rovers won’t care, easy as Irish teams usually get in Europe…

An awful game to watch. If Hibernians had been able to shoot on target, they could have had a few goals in the first half alone. The number of chances they skied was unreal.

Only watched the first half tonight and didn't bother with the second. Dreadful stuff, but job done for Rovers.

Brutal watch but lovely to be so bored in a European game for the right reasons and great to see Byrne and Burke back in the squad. We were a sloppy though and will need to be way more clinical when we create chances on the break against better sides. Towell being offside for his chance was criminal and Greene really should be getting a shot away. Watts was wasteful in the final third as well but with Jack back we will be better there hopefully. And Burke is the best finisher at the club now so he will be a better option than Greene moving forward.

Sligo should get another win and go through. Derry will be lucky to get anything.

They are capable and if they score first and not too late ye never know. There is enough European experience dotted about their squad to be patient enough to try and pick off goals and not going all out attack too early and coughing up any hope they had. Bit like the cup for sides struggling in the league, its a chance to forget about their domestic form, they have little to lose so just go and play with some sense of freedom.

They had 7 players last week who were full internationals. With Derry's injuries I can't see any good result.

Wishful thinking, my mates are almost at Dublin airport as I type. I went to Riga the last time we played there but circumstances mean I can't go this time.
I'm not giving up on this but really can't see us going through.

Offside twice I think. Once for the pass out wide and again for the pass to him. Really careless.

From a form point of view that performance was a bit concerning really, particularly given how poor Hibs were in the first leg. Puts a lot of pressure on the home games to not be able to win in Malta.

But as said already (by me and others) let's take it as job done and hope there's another gear when required

I was at the game PS and believe me there wasn't the slightest hint of concern on the pitch. The most concerning thing was the model airplane doing loop the loops next door and the fact that the bar under the stand had vodka redbulls for €2.50..
The ground made a small fortune in the bar from thirsty Hoops
It was a professional performance from the team and good experience for organised defending which one assumes will be required against Ludogrets.

Ye were never in danger of going out - or even losing - for sure, and I can understand (indeed, even predicted) the desire to save energy in warm conditions with a healthy first-leg advantage.

But it would have been nice all the same to show something that'd give active hope, if not for Ludogorets (who are a properly good team), for the other two bites at the cherry to get into the group stage, and that a repeat of the Flora debacle isn't a possibility.

That's trying to find the downside of course. A game against a better team will naturally push the side more, so as I say, hopefully there's another gear there when required.
