No more to say.

Good news indeed. I suppose he'll slot into the Derek McCarthy shaped hole in midfield.
And to dampen spirits again somewhat Willie Doyle looks set to go to Bray and according to Danny Drew in today's Scum Sun more players will be on their way out of Limerick in the near future.
That's right folks, the same Danny Drew who said earlier in the week in the Mirror that Limerick would not be selling their key players like Darren Young (one can only assume that as top scorer Derek McCarthy would have fallen into that category too).![]()
slk sits back and waits for Williejohn and co to defend the indefensible...
Anyway, hurrah for Brendan Sweeney!![]()

Welcome back Brendan Sweeny![]()
If your reading this thought you would have had more sense than to sign![]()

I agree, I been away on hols. for the past few weeks and to be honest I cannot believe whats gone on since I've been away, I understand peoples frustrations about results but I think in the main we're still in the shake up and thats all that counts.I read the match report on the Dundalk game and by all accounts we were outplayed for the most part of the game, but Dundalk also have several players who have performed (well) in the premier. That said, are we really equipped to go up this season (I think not).We are finally getting the structures in place (off the field planning permission for a 2000 seater stand opposite the dugouts) so our chairmans intentions are true. This constant hurling of abuse from supporters to members of the club and vice versa ie. to J. Soap & Willie John(if indeed you are DDrew) will do nothing but harm the club in the long run.IMO neither should get involved in slagging matches with supporters on this site certainly not the Chairman anyway (rise above it).If the club has something constructive to say, then by all means use this link as a way of informing supporters of your intentions, otherwise get a website up and running.
Also we had nothing last year, no money, ground, players or support, do you as fans want to go back to that, I for one don't.At the beginning of the year we were all hailing our saviour D Drew, and while things haven't been going so well over the past few weeks, we are still far better off than we were last season. We're 6 months into a 5 year plan, the way things were on and off the field last year means that there is gonna be a lot of ups and downs before the club finally get things right. Lets just be patient, and stop the petty bickering and hope we get back to winning ways on Fri night........C'mon you blues.

Difficult to argue with anything there, Westside. You were on holidays? This coincided with our drop in form. Are you the hot dog man?
As for banterboy - I think the unanimous verdict on Sweeney is that he is a great signing and Limerick fans to a man are delighted with him coming. FAir play to DD and NOC for securing it. Carthy's loss is disappointing - can't someone be happy about one and annoyed about the other. The reason is that sorting out midfield involved getting Carthy out of there but only to put him up front - not out of the club.

Sorry Westside we're still in the shake up Have to disagree with you on this one.
Are you sure about all your facts re pitch etc ?????

It's easy for somebody who hasn't witnessed our insipid form over the last few games to claim the moral high ground. On current form we have absolutely no hope in hell of going up. I'm thrilled that we're still in contention for a play-off spot but I am very frustrated that the club seems to be doing its best to prevent that from being achieved. To say nothing of the fact that yet another player is being pushed towards the exit door against their will. I'll stress again, Danny Drew has been a good thing for this club. But this stinks to high heaven and common decency alone gives me an obligation to speak out.
I think banterboy does a pretty good job at reducing his own argument to shreds, anybody who expects their support to applaud and dance for joy at the loss of a key player (even leaving aside the fact that he's top scorer) is clearly missing something here or is too busy swallowing the party line to see things clearly.
Even if we had to shed players to sign Sweeney surely banterboy would agree we would have been better off dropping another couple of fringe players? Or maybe we could return our own underperforming loan 'star'?![]()

SLK you are bang on once more. If we are to lose players I can think of some who desreve to go more then those selected.
Also common decency is the root of this argument. I, for one, cannot tolerate the complete lack of respect given to the players involved and the way in which all this was handled was terrible.
Once more I agree with SLK We are obliged to stand up when we see players treated in the manner that they currently are. It's almost as if it's got nothing to do with football and more to do with treating people with the respect they deserve.

Great to have Brendan back anyway, if he can recreate the type of form Mike Kerley got out of him I'll be a happy man........whats that NOC is playing him at left back......dammit!
C'mon John we're still there or there abouts(not for the title)but at least nearer the top than we were at this stage last season as for facts about the pitch I was just quoting someone who was at the Dundalk match who told me about it.I can't say that it is true just what I heard..............Originally Posted by JohnD

Thats a bit harsh SLK, its not about claiming any moral highground.I have said as you have stated that we are not equipped to go up this season, form or otherwise, as for your 1st comment I missed two games Dundalk and Galway, so its not like I've been away for months, I could see the cracks appearing at the Sligo match.I know Carthy will be a loss but I'm prepared to wait and see who comes in the next fortnight before laying seige on the club. Sweeney is a positive signing which should allow Tommy to see more of the ball from an attacking sense.Originally Posted by sadloserkid

Wasn't trying to have a go at you. The last two matches though have been putrid, every bit as cwap as the stuff we watched last year.
And even if sign Ronaldinho, Essien and Figo in the next week it won't make their behaviour towards the existing players any more acceptable in my book.
