There's more chance of Wigan staying up than finishing bottom. People judge teams/players too much on their reputation. They'll have £25m to spend and already have a good backbone to build upon with Kavanagh, Roberts, Ellington, etc.

They may as well have €2.5m to spend cause there won't be too many genuine Premiership players wanting to go to the JJB. Unless they're after some super league on a friday night.

5th spot is really open for anyone, who is consistent.

You think Newcastle will be consistent after last season?! Consistently poor doesn't do any good! The InterToto may hinder them by stretching out their season and they may tire towards the end.

If they stop leaking goals like a sieve, and are a fortress at home, they may well challenge for the postion.

And sure if my granny had balls, etc. Fairly obvious statement, but don't see any indication that it'll actually happen under Souness.

Everton are nothing more than a pub side. Their form was poor in the second half of last season, and they should have been swallowed up by several of the teams behind them.

They got 61 points last year - would have gotten into the CL the previous season too. They came seventh in 2002/03, so to call them a pub side is unfair. Moyes is a quality manager and he'll keep them well away from trouble.

Portmouth, Fulham, Charlton etc don't have trouble attracting reasonable premiership players, so why not Wigan ? Players are mercenaries. Other than the top elite who can pick and choose their clubs, the journeyman premership player will go wherever he'll get a decent wage.
