Very bold prediction for the Top 5!![]()
Relegation is more interesting:
Charlton, Wigan and West Brom.
I think it's time Charlton went back where they belong and Fulham in due course as well.
How will the English Premiership look come May 7th 2006?
My prediction: (Top/Bottom 5 only)
1: Chelsea
2: Arsenal
3: Liverpool
4: Manure
5: Newcastle
.........
16: Everton
17: Portsmouth
18: West Brom
19: Sunderland
20: Wigan
PS: How many times will Wigan be 20th?![]()

Can't see it happening - way too far off the top three last season, and haven't signed anyone of real note.Originally Posted by mypost

Can't see that either. Don't think they'll come fourth again, but they've spent a bit of money to strengthen the squad, so should be well equipped to come mid-table at worst.Originally Posted by mypost

I can see Arsenal winning the league. They came good towards the end of season when they got over the whole Man Utd/Highbury thing

I'd like to see Sunderland stay up as they have and always have had traditionnally a large Irish contingent. Unfortunately, I dont think they have a strong enough defence to stay up however.
Its easy enough to pick the top 3 or so but whos going to the surprise team of the league, ie Ipswich a couple of years ago, Everton last year.
Will Spurs finally fulfill their potential?!?!

Talk of Newcastle finishing in 5th is insane. They've achieved little of note in the transfer market over the Summer, and Souness himself has publically stated that he'll be surprised if he's still in the role this time next season - which doesn't exactly inspire confidence !
Difficult to see past Wigan, Sunderland and West Brom for the drop - though Wigan could well surprise everyone (and in a more convincing fashion than the Baggies).
How about the SPL then ? Here's my wildest guess :![]()

Well, they did finish eighth last season - why not?!
Incidentally, are they in Europe now that England got a fifth CL spot?
No, England got one less UEFA Cup spot for Liverpools CL place. So no Europe for City.Originally Posted by pineapple stu

There's more chance of Wigan staying up than finishing bottom. People judge teams/players too much on their reputation. They'll have £25m to spend and already have a good backbone to build upon with Kavanagh, Roberts, Ellington, etc.Originally Posted by mypost
