Paul Doyle from UCD to Dundalk.
Was known he was moving on this year. Club captain, but don't think he's at the level of other graduates at Dundalk (Boyle, McMillan, Benson, etc). D24 describes McClelland as a good solid squad player and I'd probably have Doyle around the same level.

Darragh Nugent on loan for a season to Drogs from Shamrock Rovers
I feel we're possibly at a bad point in the squad turnover cycle a little like the last time our last relegation season. We'd have had a much more stable squad up going up the previous season but that's just the challenge of being UCD. I'm speaking under the assumption that we may lose Kerrigan, Keaney and Whelan too by the end of the academic year.
Agree with your summation of Doyle's ability. He made a fine contribution to the club and hopefully he'll continue to develop and go on to have a fine career.
Yeah, I'm not optimistic alright, but you never know who'll come through, and if many more of Drogheda's players move to Richmond, then we've a chance.
At least we'll have a game every week, unlike the First Division!

Centre-mid. More in the Sloggett defensive mid mould than an attacking mid like, say, Gary O'Neill. So Sloggett scored 7 goals in 90 games, Doyle scored 5 in 110, O'Neill scored 40 in 142 for example.
Yes, but bear in mind that when myself and Poor Student are comparing Doyle to other UCD players, we're comparing them from their time at UCD. So if he's going full-time, then yeah, you'd expect him to improve a bit, but that doesn't impact the view that we reckon he's not quite at the same level of other UCD players who've been at Dundalk.
Dundalk and St Pat's should both be deducted 50 points for this nonsense and also Drogheda for some reason.

One from twitter that got a smile out of me today
Ryan Brennan confirmed for Drogs
Georgie Poynton too has signed for Drogheda, Brennan Poynton Rooney were 3 of Shels most popular players who Duff should have done everything to keep them around with flexible training arrangements
I think Kev Doherty is playing a blinder for Drogheda at his recruitment with taking over having lost some of Drogheda's top players
The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians
We have also signed Ryan Graydon from Bray Wanderers. GC obviously knows all bout him. Any1 with more info on him as I dont know much bout him?
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Two good signings and a bonus they are local. We seem to have signed an awful lot of midfielders though as well as 3 strikers. Still really light in defence at the minute with Massey the only one of 3 defenders with any real experience. I have a feeling Poynton was playing a bit of CB with Shels though but I could be way off with that.
Darragh Leahy (extension) and Paul Doyle (new signing from UCD) confirmed today by Dundalk.
