That is shocking. You often hear it said that "it could have taken someone's eye out". Well that certainly could have, the players would have no idea anything was coming.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
I am rather surprised the game resumed after that, what on earth were those idiots thinking? surely not actual Rovers fans? just pure scum looking to cause trouble.
Have to say, when I saw the first post on it, I presumed it was "just" a flare, which is dangerous enough thrown onto the pitch. But what actually happened is a whole other level of dangerous. There'll be more said about that in the coming days I think. Can Rovers expect a fine for an away match? Maybe a one-game behind closed doors ban? I think it's hard to underestimate how incredibly dangerous that was.
Could they possibly be docked points after that? there has to be consequences surely?
Gob****es pure and simple.
Video on Facebook showing four fireworks being fired from the back of the stand.
The clip above is just the last one, but possibly one or two players had already been hit when the fourth was let off.
It gets worse with every new angle
All the way to Waterford to do that, get slapped by your own fans, get thrown out and then hopefully get banned for life and charged with a criminal offense. What goes through these dopes heads?
Dylan Watts hit by something thrown from the crowd as he was coming out for the second half as well. Is it a full moon?
Bradley banged on all week about widening the points gap , maintaining performance levels blah blah blah…. So far a pathetic lethargic error strewn ( aside from Lopes) performance …. Bradley set the bar low by leaving Finn, Towell and Gaffney out of the squad and Mannus on the bench …. Complete disrespect and even if we get a draw/win not good enough
Glad to see my message got through…. That’s why Bradley is manager and I’m not 😆

Meanwhile -on LOI TV, all communication has been lost with Donegal.
Doing our bit for Harps
Thankfully, communication has now been restored.
Rovers are so far ahead the FAI could even come in with say a 5-point deduction - won't change anything for Rovers, but would be a real deterrent going forward.
But I'm not sure that they could fully reconcile that with the fact that they haven't docked points for flares on pitches before.
Fair Result in Ballybofey, neither of us deserved to win.
A comfortable 1-3 wins for Rovers at the RSC.
Could Dundalk actually sneak Europe yet?
Home to Longford and Derry. Win those two, Bohs drop three points or more in the run-in (against Rovers and Rovers), Pat's win the Cup and that's about it.
Would be a suitable end to a weird season
I would say unlikely, although its possible !
In short with the GD (Derry + 4 v DFC -3), Derry really only need to beat Sligo at home next week, then they go on 51 points, that will probably oust Dundalk, even if we win last 2 which includes last day v Derry (we are currently on 45), but after Sligo winning 3-0 tonight, plus they have a good record in BW (I think), who knows.
Bohs abs not out of the running either, but they may have eye off the ball with cup final.
Unless Dundalk go on big scoring win v Longford, but we have yet to beat them this season !
If Bohs lose one, or drop other points, Derry fail to beat Sligo, then Dundalk win last 2, we could nick 4th, but too many IFS and BUTS for me, plus it could all be for nothing as the cup final is 50/50, Bohs win it, 4th place becomes N/A.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
