Kelly for me over McDonagh. McDonagh's shirt looks more like a rugby jersey than a keeper's one.

    Rd 4 & 5 Kelly

That Rd 5 keeper jersey was the first 'unusual' colour selection that I remember.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

    Kelly v McDonagh

I like both. McDonagh's is a tidy jersey, but it's just a bit too Gah for me. Kelly's makes me want to dig out some 90s music and finish work an hour early.

    Kelly it is.
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

11-0 in match 4; a real hammering there as Alan Kelly goes through.

I'll leave match 5 up for the weekend as it's typically quieter on here. We're half-way through the first round, and I'll pick it up again on Monday morning with match 6 - Wayne Henderson v Dean Kiely

    Kelly for me.
That looks like the shirt McDonagh wore v Belgium 1981 when he made a total hames out of trying to deflect that late free kick over the bar, ultimately denying us a World Cup Final spot.

A really tight match there, but Alan Kelly edges it 6-5. Wouldn't be surprised to see the McDonagh kit given a back door back into the competition later in the week though.

We're half-way through the first round now, though only 10 of the 38 kits have made an appearance so far. We'll get round 1 finished by Wednesday and then go into the repechage to set us nicely for round 2 (the last 32) next week.

As promised, this match is Dean Kiely v Wayne Henderson. Specifically, it's the 2002 World Cup kit against the late Stan era kit. But which stays and which goes?

Henderson for me too. The Kiely one is a bit uninspired.

    That’s a really tight one.
I’ll go for Kiely as it reminds me of good times

Henderson comfortably for me though Kiely's is decent by the standards of dull, black shirts.

Big lead for Henderson so far, although I think it's a bit harsh on Kiely; I like the green stripe.

Still taking votes till the morning, but in the meantime, we have one of the heavy hitters joining in now. It's won the best home kit and the best home kit - can the 88/90 top pull off the treble? To do so, Packie is going to have to beat another yellow outfit from 2003, here modelled by Nicky Colgan.

Poor Colgan. That's not a bad shirt at all, but it's not even different in any advantageous way from Packie's. Bonner all the way.
