    Wyw u17

Really uplifting piece of news from our WYW U17s to see Katie Law back playing for our U17s this weekend and scoring for them in the 2-2 draw away to Cork. It's only a few weeks ago that Katie was in dreadful distress after being injured in a game in Ferrycarrig and it was pretty harrowing to watch, to be honest. It turned out to be a dislocated shoulder and Katie has made a startling recovery.

Katie would be a member of the wider Dempsey/Jarrett family which has provided such a rich source of football players for Wexford.

Harsh result on the scoreboard for the previously unbeaten Wexford Youths Women U17 as they lost their semi-final against a very good Treaty XI by four goals to one. Chances were relatively even for both sides but Wexford gifted a second goal to Treaty after a bad clearance from the Wexford defence and also a third to Treaty when Wexford gave away a peno after looking to be in comfortable possession in their own area. Wexford also had a goal disallowed early on in the game when a Wexford corner sailed with the wind into the top corner of the back post, but with nobody within feet of getting near to the ball, the ref gave a free out. Wexford's goal came from Katie Law.

Result from today: Wexford 0, Waterford 0. Close game of few chances with Maeve Kenny doing well in goal for Wexford and the Waterford keeper with one great save with her feet to keep out a one-on-one.
