Wexford continued their improvement under manager, Ian Ryan, as they nicked another three points against UCD in what turned out to be a fine game in Ferrycarrig tonight. With Lorcan Fitzgerald suspended and Paul Fox missing, Wexford started with Jimmy, Karl M, Kevin, Paul, Karl F, Conor, Harry, Jack M, Jack D, Kyle and Thomas. The game started relatively quietly although, on four minutes, Jimmy Corcoran had to push away a shot from a tight angle by UCD dangerman, Liam Kerrigan. On nine minutes, Wexford’s Jack Doherty had a shot blocked for a corner and, from that corner, Paul Cleary headed over. Few passages of interest from then until 25 minutes, when Thomas Considine was sent through on goal but shot straight at Williams in the UCD goal. Game changed, however, on 33 minutes when Jack Doherty’s shot was deflected past Williams to put Wexford a goal ahead. Wexford remained in relative control from then until half-time and they went in at the break with their one goal lead.
