    Cork City v Monaghan United

    Preview

CORK City boss Liam Murphy has welcomed the news that incoming chairman Brian Lennox will provide the finance for a couple of key signings in the summer.

The Leesiders fell away badly in the title race after Christmas and Murphy knows that changes will have to be made during the summer.

The City supremo is preparing for Sunday afternoon's clash with relegated Monaghan United at Turner's Cross in the knowledge that he has practically a full squad at his disposal, with only Greg O'Halloran missing through suspension.

But Murphy is only too aware that his side haven't won on their home pitch since the end of December, when they defeated Derry City, and that is an indication that surgery is required on his team over the close season.

He is still waiting to hear if Ollie Cahill wants to commit himself to the club for another two or three seasons.

But the news that Lennox, who takes charge of the club after the final game of the season - against Derry City in seven days time - will provide funds for an influx of new personnel is encouraging.

Monaghan, meanwhile, are already gearing up for next term in the First Division.

Bobby Browne intends watching several players from different clubs in the weeks to come as he looks to rebuild a squad that will be dismantled at the end of a disappointing campaign.

Browne, however, is without Trevor Vaughan (ankle), while Jonathan King (groin) and John Carroll (hamstring) are almost certain to miss out as well for the top flight's bottom club.
