Kinger got better as he went on, he was natural on the camera and a decent laugh at times. Far better than some of the pundits they get on who look like they don't have a clue what to do in front of a camera.

I'll miss his ties most of all

    Exclamation

Thought it was a good laugh him throwing over the tie to Trevor at the end .... He has alot of faults but there are alot worse aswell.
Who will be taking the reigns from here on in ..... wouldn't be a bad idea if they tried out a few people instead of selecting one straight away .... might get alot of different opinion that way .... thought McCue offered the most recently with his knowledge and observation of the league, but would need a few programmes under his belt i'd say. Paul Osam was good too but came across as really boring at times, and you'd need a bigger personality there to improve the show.

    Any suggestions ??

I think Noel King was good. He knew his stuff and was good fun.

They could try and get Brian Kerr maybe.

The northern accent comes across very well on TV so maybe a former player from Derry City. Liam Coyle maybe!

Would rather someone not from Dublin (Look a dubliner ranting about people being pro dublin ) as everyone on the show seems to have a Dublin accent bar Trevor, makes it seem more like a Dublin centred league.

Dolan may be many things (there is a character limit on posts here so unfortunately I can't quite go into that....) but he's very very good on TV, so long as he's not useing it to promote himself as could turn out to be the case. He'd be a good pundit, and recognisable to the average Joe as he's done the confeds cup.

Reckon it will be Dolan. Kinger didn't look too happy about leaving tbh. Has he got something else lined up? Maybe the $hels job???

I think he will be hard to replace. He has taken over as national director of women soccer, which is a full time post.

I think the TV3 gig doesn't pay too much, hence the Dublin-based pundits. If you wanted a guy who knows the scene outside Dublin, what about Dave Barry.

why can they bring in a different manager from each club each week. They'd give good insights into the game and would be williing to do it to increase exposure for their clubs. Have a manager alongside someone like Pat Dolan or Brian kerr (to show he's a bit interested). Or even someone objective from outside the league to give a neutral opinion.

Also the format could be changed. seems to pack in too much in too little time while glossing over some good games and good talking points. Its strange set-up cos they always run out of time, yet they spend the early part of the highlights showing players warming up - bad idea. if your stuck for time then just show the highlights and spend some proper time discussing them. they could also throw in a player of the month and do a profile on him. something that's interesting at least.

I think Scully has improved as the weeks went on and he and King had developed a good partnership. He needs to be the foil to a bigger personality though, they need a good replacement for Kinger.
    Roddy Collins anyone

Ha, maybe people power does work after all Kinger was a laugh at times but more coz of his stupidity (eg ties) than his wit, although himself and Trev had a bit of chemistry Dolan would be good alright but I cant see it happening, same with Kerr, I dont think he would have the time when the EPL starts up again.

Charlie McKeever was good anytime he was on tv but I doubt he would travel down from Donegal and he would prob only get to see Finn Harps & Derry games. Liam Buckley might be one (although he got Jason Byrne and Glen Crowe mixed up AFTER Crowe got taken off against Derry). Roddy will need the money if he's cutting back to part time so he would be a good one, as would Pat Morley or Derek Swan Id say.

The Soccer Show that used to be on RTE used to have journalists on it and I thought they were quite good and less biased, maybe that would be an idea?
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.

Last night he treated us to one of his inspired pearls of wisdom and insight on the EL prem. Apparently the "table doesn't lie" and the top six teams are the "best six teams in the league".

So that's us told how to read a table then.

You should be a politician or a journalist with that ability to selectively quote
He said that at this stage of the season the table has settled down and early season runs of form for the weaker teams have been balanced out, and now the top six teams are the "best six teams in the league"

Bye Noel. He was a funny chap, despite his ignorance. I feel that he will be back on our telly's soon enough.....

As for reaplacements I'd say Pat Dolan is the obvious choice. His footballing knowledge is very extensive. I know many people here dont lik him but I do. I just hope he doesn't start his stand up routine again. The Robert Huth joke wasn't funny!

And sure if he doesn't want to do it, we could go for someone with the Northern accent. I wonder what Trevor Anderson is doing these days........?

He also said the most important lesson from City's win at Belfield was that teams would cause Cork problems when they put men behind th2 ball "simple as that".

He has a point - sort of- about CIty struggling to break teams down, but it's a funny way to look at a 5-1 win... he just can't help hiself when it comes to City
