Second half was better particularly by Wexford who managed to create enough to threaten the Cabo goal on several occasions. On 12 minutes, the excellent Jack Doherty had a shot deflected inches the wrong side of the Cabo post for a Wexford corner. From that corner, Kyle Robinson put Wexford ahead with a bullet header from close in and Wexford were in front. However, it didn’t take Cabo long to equalise as a cross from the right by Cabo was headed home by Kieran Marty Waters and it was 1-1. Wexford were undoubtedly energised by going in front, however, and Robinson was unlucky to see his chip of Halwax just turned away by the latter for a corner on 18 minutes. On 24 minutes, Wexford regained the lead when Doherty collected a quick Wexford throw-in and his first-time cross found Jack Moylan free inside the box. Moylan’s good first touch enabled him to beat Halwax with ease with his second and it was 2-1 to Wexford. Subs for Wexford as the second half progressed had included Paul Fox, Harry Groome, Anto Dolan and Evan Farrell. Cabo came close to equalising again but a couple of shots pulled wide of the Wexford posts and a Cabo header over the bar in injury time enabled Wexford to hold on to the lead and secure their third win of the season – all against Cabo. Best for Wexford were Jimmy Corcoran in goal who is improving by leaps and bounds, Karl Fitzsimons down the right and Jack Doherty up front ably assisted by Kyle Robinson and Jack Moylan. Maybe, 180 at the game.
