I have to back Terry9 on this topic. We are fed up of just making up numbers in the first division... I think we're the longest serving team in the first division!! for the club to advance we have to have ambition ...aim for the stars and fall on the trees.
The club will have to use all its amenities to generate a sustainable income to cover player wages... everybody knows that nowadays it's money that dictates success on the pitch... like it or not. The club is remembered for two things..... the heroic feats of sniffer O'Neill and co. in the cup over twenty years ago and Roy Keane. Its now time for the club to get off its backside and attain success, it's the only way to get the crowds in.
Saying all of that, credit to the management and players for the job they do and for the money they get paid, but you have to be clinical in your appraisal of players and management .... also the committee has to perform financially to make the budget available to the manager.
    Terry 9 your misunderstood!!!!

Surely be to god you do think that out of the games you have seen this year that the Team are quite good and have the potential to do well in comparison to other years!!!!
the Team are quite good and have the potential to do well
that exactly is why i get so ****ed off watching our displays!!i have seen potential and if we play to it we'd still be in the cup's because we would have whipped wayside and thumped waterford!!

we have a very good team were just never ever consistint!!

the players have to put in the effort every week, were more than able to mix it with the big boys!!

Fair point but would you not agree that it must be hard to keep such a young team (with alot of potential, that we both agree on) who in my opinion are obviously eager to get on and yet they still have a lot to learn. They are quite young, I mean look how young Cork City were last year and everytime I picked up the paper, people were emphasing how young they were. Look at them 2nd in the league last year and look how well they have done this year. They needed experience and time to work together as a team, but I suppose it all takes time. I also think that we have a lot of young COBH lads in the squad who are working very hard and are also young, which is another reason why I think that we should support them and the management as ALL THE SQUAD are doing well and from what I hear are working very hard and I believe they can only get better !!!!

Fair point Rammie....and without slating the players as well. Have been following them for a long time now and would love nothing better to be top of the premier however the numbers we have coming thru the gates someweeks will amount to about 150 to 200. That does not even start to cover a league of Ireland teams expenses. We have to depend on tickets and bar income / functions to do that which does not leave a lot left over.

The money we got for the pitch has to be held to purchase another pitch for the schoolboys so as such that money is gone. We are starting to install dressing rooms and referees facilities that will probably cost E200000 so where does this money come from and all this money for buying playes come from....remember cork city(pop 200000) get 5000-6000 a game we get 150 -200 (pop 15000) a game proportionally and yes you can make the point if we buy players more fans will come in but what happens if you buy players and they loose a match and people start slagging them off and we dont get promoted because of lack of team support....we are then in the 1st div with a crippling debt as well which will force the club to fold....
