Agreed. My googling level research tells me that we are one of the few countries that doesn't cap tie players as early as possible, probably because of the 'do I feel Irish/British' debate - when it's absolutely fine to have both identities.
It's time to get past that once and for all and hopefully having a manager who's doesn't seem too bothered about politics will be a good thing.
I don't think there's any way we don't call him up, provided that he's fit and willing.
They'll be rioting on the streets of Tirana tonight.
Posting for posterity - capped a player with huge potential before he was ready. What a change from the O'Neil days
We have quietly cap-tied quite a lot of dual eligible players in the last year or so. Hopefully it stands to us down the line, it's an important part of international football and pretty much every country does it to some extent.
I can see the point of capping the lad, as he has potential; however, he seems a bit off the pace of this level. We had two great opportunities to go further ahead in the second half and he butchered both of them.
Goal and an assist for him tonight away to Portsmouth. Leading 2-1 now from a goal down. Only came on at 35'
The future is bright again...
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
Still out injured, but linked with a move to two premier League sides this morning
Crystal Palace and Fulham are among the clubs continuing to monitor Watford and Republic of Ireland winger Rocco Vata, 20. The Championship side value Vata at about £20m
Played the last 35 minutes of the home draw v Portsmouth tonight.
Started against Blackburn on Saturday, and the plan was to sub him at half-time or shortly after, as he built up playing time after a long break due to injury. Limped off after 41 mins and has now posted on Instagram: ""Sh*ts typical, see you all next season".

The midfield options for Heimir are reducing.....
Vata wasn't going to be involed in the play offs. Didnt think he was great for the 21s last time he played.
