Good to see that he keeps his place in the starting XI with Lagerbielke dropping to the bench for Nat Phillips.

Phillips off at halftime for Lagerbielke. Not sure if that's an injury or form. But can't hurt Scales

Delighted for him to get a run in the Celtic team. I'm guessing he's surprised more than me breaking in there, seemed like he was destined for another loan move.

Can only assume he will be starting in the CL during the week too. They won't be favourites by any means but looking at their group they have a huge chance to make the last 16 of that competition.

They will need to pick up a few results if they want to keep there automatic CL group stage position too.

Scales is benefitting from a perfect storm of injuries, Starfelt leaving and new signings struggling to settle. I think when everyone is fit he'll probably drift back down to 4th or 5th choice CB. He's definitely applying himself well and doing his best to avail of the opportunity but I would say he lacks the qaulity of a Cameron Vickers or Starfelt. He's also probably Celtic's 2nd choice LB for Europe as Bernabei wasn't given a squad number and that's possibly testament to his recent performance at Ibrox.

I like how Scales is very composed with the ball at his feet and always seems to know where an opponent is available. Some good long balls on Saturday, one led to a goal that was disallowed for a tight offside. I'm wondering if there's a DM to be made out of him. I think Collins could do a job at DM too, a position I was reluctant to consider him for until recently but I've changed my mind - out of necessity!

Christ, old age creepng in. I meant "teammate"! I was trying to say he has a good pass completion rate when under pressure from opponents. He waits that extra fraction of a second and doesn't panic, but knows when to hit it long if needed.

Assume he is likely to start tonight away to Feyenoord in Champions League?

Yeah think they're still missing most of their CBs. Nat Phillips came off at the weekend with a knock so could literally be down to Scales and Lagerbielke as their only CBs. Lagerbielke being the bomb scare from the Rangers game. Feyenoord probably licking their lips as they've scored 17 goals in their last 3 league games.

Ben Quinn added as well. They weren't named when I posted the link, they're in the B squad.

Must be the first Irish outfield player in the Champions League group stages in a while, or maybe I've forgotten someone? Did Matt Doherty play Champions League at Spurs?

I've been impressed with Scales in the first half. Rodgers has them playing the same way Swansea played ten years ago, lots of playing the ball out from the back. Unlucky to be down at the half from an excellent free kick.

His partner beside him Lagerbielke sent off after 65 minutes ,second time I’ve seen him and he looks really poor,Scales definitely ahead of him in the pecking order when they are all fit…..

I thought Scales was good last night and was actually one of Celtic’s few good performers over the full game. Brought a calmness to the defence, defended well and always looked to do the right thing with the ball, even if his deep CMs mightn’t have thanked him at times - but that’s their job. One or two stray passes late in the first half that put Celtic under pressure in a spell where Feyenoord had the bit between their teeth. Definitely showed more composure than Lagerbielke! I like him.
