If not to start then to at least have as an option.i think there is a few junior players in limerick at the moment that could do a better job than the players that are up there, especially in midfield where they look short of bodies. There is quite a few midfielders in limerick that would hold their own at that level.
There isn't a Buckley debate. Of course we should try to sign talented local players (Kelleher and Barrett are the most recent examples of it). Not raving about this one player does not mean I don't want talented lcoal players. However, I think there are very few junior players that could make the step up actually. Though I am sure Buckley probably could - at last as you say as a valuable member of the squad. Local junior supporters have an inflated view of the quality in the junior league.

So every time we have a bad run tehre are posts on here asing why don't we sign some left winger from Carew or midfielder from Pike. There have been lots of conflicting view son whether Buckley has been apporahced or not. Whether he would or not. That's all irrelevant. IMO if he was good enough to play eL he would be playing eL - there are more teams than just Limerick. I presume from that he isn't good enough to make the step up. I don't know the guy and he has been very good whenever I have seen him play, but not remarkable, and a really good eL player should be remarkable at junior level.

The Lad does not want to play with anybody but Limerick due to work commitments.Barrett and Kelliher have made the step up without being remarkable at Junior Level, In Fact of the Three Buckley would be seen by most as being the better of the three and most likely to impact not least from his experiences in the Irish Amateur set up in which Kelliher has limited and Barrett none at all.Im not saying either Kelliher or Barrett are "Very Good EL Players"but there not doing too Bad for their first season, And I think people Harp on anout him to sign for Limerick so much because they know that he could be a great addition for LFC.No other Junior Player is good enough in the Limerick League IMO and it seems to be the opinion of others also because only one name seems to be cropping up again and again and thats Brian Buckley although I hear he is Injured at the moment so maybe thats the reason he has not been approached during the window.

If he comes from a junior club he doesn't have to be signed during the window. He can be signed any time.

I'd liek to see Buckley signed. Enough people rate him highly so at the very least it would be great to see a local lad playing at the highest level possible.

    I don't think a centrehalf is a priority though.

Then maybe switch Sweat into centre half. It would give a lot more options. Fair enough. Where did I leave the cheque book?
