I think we are in a spot of bother.

Didn’t see either game but that’s a good point for Longford. Must be so disheartening though for them that almost every time they earn a point when they weren’t fancied to do so, Waterford go and get themselves 3 in the same scenario

Draws are not a lot of use to us at the moment but it's a credit to all concerned that the players still fight for every point in every game. A couple of wins from somewhere and we might start to think maybe there's a chance.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Longford did scrap really well and played some good stuff at times, fair play, but Steacy really was the difference between the two teams. Some world class saves, at least 3 or 4. Thought we might have had 3 penalties on another day.
Oh yeah that's absolutely true. But we're always going to need some luck and our keeper to be on top form.to get anything against the top teams, whether they make changes or not. Our main issue is we don't score enough goals to be able to nick a win here and there.

The managerial appointment changed our season. In the last 7 games we’ve picked up 13 losing 2, in the 7 prior to that we lost 7 scoring 1. The rest of the season will be an interesting battle at the bottom nonetheless. Personally think with our form and incoming players, I’d be optimistic of catching Harps and pulling away from the bottom. It’s the LOI so I’ve no doubt there’ll be a few surprises to come just yet.
Really hard to see anyone other then Longford finishing bottom now too. Players are working their socks off but unfortunately they lack some quality.
Decent weekend of results for Pats, it's a shame Derry are such cowards or it could have been a great weekend.
Pty that Sligo don't have another round in Europe, a couple more Thursday-Sunday fixtures might have costs them more points. It looks like Bohs didn't take Longford serious enough, a lot of changes after Thursday, were Bohs fans annoyed at the starting 11 Long went with?
Here on a technicality.
Harps really need to get the squad fit again. That's been the biggest disruption, the likes of Webster, McEleney, Connolly, Barry, Doherty, Folan (subsequently retired as a result), and Timlin all suffering injury has made a balls of it for us.
There were signs of improvement in the second half against Dundalk, but 2 points from the last ten games has destroyed the confidence. Hopefully we can get a handful of goals and a good performance in the cup this week. It's been the turning point of our season a few years now, so fingers crossed it's the turning point again this year.

Thats a shame hearing that Folan has been forced to retire!
We hadn't a massive amount of defenders signed this season. Folan is a league winner, knows what it takes to challenge further up the table, and is a good all round talker and leader. Played a big part in our run late on last season, and was expected to help us push on this year. Managed 8 appearances this season despite the injury issues, leaves a big gap there now.

Someone should’ve told Stephen Kenny/Vinny Perth this and maybe he’d have started more than 8 league games in his 2 years at Dundalk
In all seriousness though it’s always sad to hear of any player having to retire through injury, regardless of how many years in their career they had left. Seemed a sound lad too any time he was a guest on any of the LOI podcasts, best of luck to him

I think the truth is that we're just not that good.
Did very well to get two up, but Shams then decided that they'd actually start playing. I think there was almost an inevitability of what happened then, reminiscent of what happened last year when we were goal up to them at the Brandy. Maybe getting into HT at 2-0 would have made a difference, but I'm not so sure.
Our defending is appalling, still only kept three clean sheets this season. We are unable to control a game. The pace is set at the whim of the opposition, with our midfield unable to force themselves on their counterparts.
Shams were brilliant when they went 2-0 down. Their finishing was clinical (why is Burke still in this league?), and just bossed the second half. Easily the best I've seen any team play this season. The gulf in quality between the teams was glaring. You couldn't get get annoyed about it, it's best just to accept it.
I know Philip O'Doherty are notions of challenging for titles in the next few years. It simply won't be down without a drastic increase in the budget.
Here on a technicality.
Nothing has been said about Waterford stopping the game 4 times to do subs in their game vs Sligo?
25' PMartin Forrest for MConnor and Ferguson
67 stafford for Milambo
82 Muwolati for Quitirna
87 Sobowale for Kavanagh
You'd have to think there was a reason 'concussion or somwthing" otherwise the 4th official surely wouldn't have allowed it
