Big game for Bohs , win and they close the gap on a title contender to 5 points lose and it stretch's to 11.
Equally big game in Tallaght for both sides , Rovers need to start winning again and on the other hand if Dundalk win they will only be 8 points behind Rovers which is a very surmountable gap. Lose and its 14 points and thats that you would have to think.
Harps need a result their form has been terrible after a bright start, it looked like mid table but if Waterford pick up it could be play off place again for Harps.

First Division looks very open for positions 2 to 5 but i think a bit like last year the standard cant be great if the 7th place team in the league is only 5 points off second and a bang average Shels are 11 points clear....either that or the first division is at a far higher standard than normal with 5 or 6 premier standard teams and the best Shels team since Stuey Byrnes day is flying.

'Sligo' lost to Mayo over the weekend so hard to see them putting in much of a performance against Longford.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

The first division has definitely improved in quality from last year. With Cork, Shels and Treaty replacing Drogs, Longford and Rovers II it was always likely to pan out with 5+ competitive teams.

Would be great for the rest of us if Shels could have a bit of a wobble sooner rather than later and come a little closer to the rest of the pack.

Our form has been woeful, coinciding with a horrible bit of luck with injury problems through the squad. Still, go on a run of form the other direction and we could just as easily climb back up to 5th or 6th. Really need to stop conceding such sloppy goals though. Drogheda will be an interesting test for us as we head into the transfer window. Could be a few more in and out of the club in the next month.

Bohs the better side here at the moment though there's nothing in it really. Jamie Lennon is a good player but despite that it's still very noticable how much we're missing Lewis in his current form. We look like we can't deal with the size of the pitch either, massive spaces between forward players and can't get much going.

The game in Tallaght is one club in disarray, relegation candidates v the champions...

Mannus kept the game alive, how Hoban ddnt finish that chance. Lovely weighted strike by Scales!

Stunning save by Mannus - and two crackers to go ahead no more than Rovers deserve on overall balance of play - but if Hoban had scored who knows - cracking game so far

Or if the ref gave the stonewall penalty shortly after we went in front.

One to write off this. Alfie Lewis was quite unlucky with his red last week but our discipline has otherwise been shocking this season, constantly accumulate soft yellows early in games and then throw wobblers when we're made to pay for it later on. Not ideal given how small the squad is regardless.

Looks like Galway going up this season alongside Shels. They're not great and the jury is still out on Caulfield, but full-time training in a part-time league is starting to kick in now and they've won four in a row. Always comfortable in the Bowl tonight.

incredibly comfortable for Rovers after going one down.
Dundalk offered nothing in the seconf half.
Big and badly needed win for rovers
Great to see Watts , Joey and Towell come in, hopefully this is the start of a better run

Entertaining game in Dalymount, the Desmond red card was the key moment. Beautiful goal from Wilson and we should have been out of sight 3-1 up and playing against 9 men, shocking unprofessionalism from Bermingham getting sent off like that. But we never do things the easy way and it was a nervy ending.

Also think Pats were a bit unlucky with that Talbot howler, looked well over the line to me.

But very happy with the 3 points after that disaster in Sligo.

Was at the game, first since March 2020.Yeah, the indiscipline sounded like it was being encouraged from the Pat's back room staff on the sideline..Very un Pat's like.

As a squad we are bare bones in proper quality, who will come in over the next few weeks will be interesting never mind who has been offloaded. Dundalk fans just not used to being starved of at least being in the mix of recent!!

Treaty train still rolling along,Cork dominated the whole game gave away 2 pens ,missed plenty chances and Healy will be scratching his head how they let 3 points away.

That was the difference - first time in weeks we had most of our squad available - plus Towell- the luxury of being able to bring in Mandriou ,Watts and O’Brien is almost outrageous- the way we bossed the second half and slew of chances created over 90 mins showed we’re getting back to to our early season/2020 performance levels
