These double weekends give huge scope for making moves and any of the top 4 can with a couple of wins can make a big stride towards a title push.
Bohs with 2 wins could close the gap significantly on Rovers, the number returning from injury for Rovers will be key on a busy weekend.
Optimistic that Vinny can bring some semblance of stability to Dundalk and we can make a charge for European Qualification and it has to start tonight! Incidentally my wife & I are due our first child this weekend but I wouldn't mind her waiting until Monday night when we'll be in earshot of Head in the Game park from the hospital, what a way to welcome her into the world that would be! Mon the town!!!
Mon the Town!
Best of luck to ye, the child's name could be decided by a last minute winner!
Big game in Richmond. Win and we might just be in a title race, lose and we're definitely not.
Here on a technicality.
These are the game weeks which separate the haves from the havenots, those with the biggest squads and budgets should expect to get some change out of their investment here. Expect to see the likes of Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk being better off than Drogheda and Harps at the end of this week.
Pretty much the exact same situation for Drogs but its Europe instead of the league we're challenging for. If we could take 2 points over Bohs and Dundalk and prevent them from gaining anything on us would be a great. Regardless of what happens it will be great to be back in United Park Monday and even better its a derby the first game back, might get a bit of an atmosphere even if only 100 in attendance.
Would love to see you win tonight, but expect Sligo to win.
If drogs can beat boez there'll be a 7 point difference between the teams-Clancy is manager of the year so far anyway.
Hopefully the return of Finner and Kavo will help Rovers overcome Waterford who will be buoyed by their win in the relegation 6 pointer last weekend.
League Specialists.
Baldy linesman playing havoc with the camera in Bray...
Lucky to be only one down at half time
Listening to Clancy being interviewed earlier and he is impressive in dealing with expectation and rallying the team after the previous result. He is going to be on clubs' radar especially if he qualifies the Drogs for Europe in a just promoted season - and on a 'proper' budget!
Finishes 1-1 in Oriel. OK result but we really need to start winning against those in the relegation scrap with us.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Sligo unexpectedly in freefall.Big win for Pats.
Georgie Kelly bangs in 4 goals but Drogs looked decent for 20 minutes
It would appear waherford were reading "the idiots guide to the dark arts" during the mid-season break-fair play to the ref for not giving in to their comical diving and feigning injury. Easy enough win in the end but their back 3 were hopeless.
Onto Monday now-should be a decent game with 2 decent teams.
Hard to know what to make of that tonight, more goals conceded from set pieces albeit a good hit from that Dundalk player! Derry a better side than what was earlier on in the season but we played in to their hands in the second half just lumping long balls, desperately need someone to start helping Foley in the goal scoring stakes, Tunde is a nuisance but just can't finish....
