Defending eircom League champions Shelbourne put together back-to-back league victories for the first time since early May to close the gap on leaders Cork City to just three points on Monday evening.
The only goal of the game came from Jason Byrne after 48 minutes, ending Longford’s seven-game run of clean sheets.
