Does anyone think this could make the TV? It is the tie of the round and they are the cup holders. Is there guaranteed to be one tie on the TV from this round?
Longford away. Can't find a date for it yet...![]()
Not a bad draw. Not great, mind, but playing the two-time holders is the kind of game we thrive on. There wasn't much betewen us last month in the league and we've both improved since then (though I think the game is a good three or four weeks away yet, so plenty of time for form to turn around). Also, we're used to knocking out teams who've won multiple Cups in a row after beating Rovers in 1988! Of course, we then went and lost to...Longford...!
Poor draw overall though - this is probably the tie of the round...

Rte don't tend to show much interest until the semi's though.

I know but I thought there is added coverge this year. Especially with TG4.
Week ending 28th August. Presumably to be played on the Saturday (27th). It's in the fixtures thread above BTW.Originally Posted by pineapple stu

Cup final in 1984? If not, then never. Don't think the Everton games got on.Originally Posted by Shooter McGavin

I don't think that the replay was on TV and the Everton games barely got sketchy highlights shown of the home leg. I still do not recall seeing the goal from the away leg at all on TV.
There were highlights of the cup games against Cork and Drgoheda on RTÉ last year.
