I'd like to think so Dancin. However we'll be away and they have not been beaten in domestic cup competition for a long time. They have to be favourites but we're more than capable of winning. It's the most even tie in the round. Could it be possible covered by TV?

Yeah, sounds like a nice play. Brandywell's a fine stadium as well, always nice to return to.

Is there a train back to Belfast after the game or would overnight accomodation in Derry be needed ?

And just to make sure we can move on on-topic: excuse me if I upset anyone, but I really had NO political undertone or preference intended. Just found a good job opportunity that happens to be north of the border and in a fine city. Maybe I'll get used to be extra careful when speaking about these things once I'm up there

Haven't been home in so long, so not sure. Depends on the KickOff time I s'pose. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a late train though.

As long as you all know there were no political intentions in the post. But maybe this is the ideal warning for what is waiting me within a few weeks

Sligo-Pats would be another option for me I guess, not that far from the border as well and never been at the Showgrounds yet...

Argh, it's just frustrating Shels ain't there anymore... WE should be playing Kildare

I hope anyway one or if possible a few amateur sides proceed. But I don't see it happening, none of them has home advantage (though maybe Shamrock will be forced to let go of the home adv. )

My initial reaction was the same but it wouldn't be the cup without an upset.
Rovers could get a fright from Douglas Hall and UCD could spoil Longfords party with a narrow victory in a replay.

Douglas Hall, Bohemian FC welcomes you to Dalymount Park (assuming the shams behave/keep paying the rent). Make yourselves right at home

this is going to be hilarious if craptown have to switch their 'home' match to united park. this is the draw i wanted beforehand

Wonder if the lovely craptown lads in the picture below will decide to come out again and have round two at our match

    Slight difference:

    (1) It was league cup not FAI so we know which one is more important .

    (2) We were playing a big match a few days later so we rested a few of our top players too.

Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

No chance of there being any hype between now and then!
Premiership and Champions League will dominate the media.

Under the new TV deal does a tie from this round have to be shown on TV?

According to FAI website fixture list the third round is played the week ending August 28th.

Remember this post? I can hardly understand it!

Anybody see Cherry Orchard beating Bray? Bray struggled against Avonmore in the last round and haven't been on th ebest of form lately. Cherry Orchard will be back in season when the game comes around, although Bray might have picked up some form in the meantime. We played Cherry Orchard three or four years ago and they were awful, mind, but still...

Don't know anything about Douglas Hall to say if they could beat Rovers?

No, they have to show seven games, one of which has been shown, by the end of the tournament. They can show as many or as little from any one round as they want.

They'll be running low on possible games if there aren't any shown from this round though. There'd be only seven games left with six required to be shown
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
