Sweden and Finland drawing 1-1 in the other game in the group tonight, a Swedish win is better for us

Yes, flat performance and frustrating result in terms of finishing second in the group. Katie McCabe at left back makes no sense either.

Katie seemed to be everywhere, that was the problem.. too often too far from where she was dangerous.. Savannah Mc Carthy unfortunately is lacking pace too much.. you can't waste Mc Cabe covering for her.

Thought the same when Jarrett came on in Finland.. hate to say it, but again we could be seeing the difference between playing pro/semi pro between WLOI and WSL in the UK

Tough conditions in Tallaght but Georgia look woeful. Should win this by 5 or 6 now.

If only the men could dispatch the Georgians with as much ease as the women seem to be doing.

Really hope that poor result on Thursday night doesn't end up catching the women out. Looks like the play off place will come down to the Finland game in Dublin next year

    Looks like you underestimated that!

Though I suspect a foot.ie XI would beat Georgia tbh. Ball retention is nil. The keeper made one flying save in the second half but has watched most of the goals go in. You can see why there's huge scores in qualifying alright

    That's an outrageous sending off.

It makes up for the penalty that wasn't given earlier, but how it's a second booking to have the ball blasted at your elbow from three yards away I don't know

The sending off was unnecessary all right

England 19-0 up on Latvia for example.

    20-0 now.

Shame; it would have been the second 19-0 of the week.

I think looking at some of the results that some of the eastern European teams in particular struggle to get a full squad for away games, which doesn't help. Presumably they can't afford time off to travel

Good to see them be so ruthless. The sending off was very harsh. Hard to believe Sweden only put 4 past them. There’s obviously still some massive gaps in standard across women’s football.

Mick Mc Carthy would have been happy with a two nil win.. 😉

Fair play to the ladies.. great win. Be great to see them qualify, would make a huge difference to the womens game in Ireland

At ten, I thought Amb Barrett’sment of riches would be a sub-editor’s dream headline, then they went and wrecked it with the eleventh goal.
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!
